I was more impressed with us defensively....looked solid.the workrate was back tonight, chasing down Chelsea players and forcing mistakes.good performance but im taking it with a pinch of salt as when you think this team is Turing a corner they let you down...it’s the man city way.

"Pep Guardiola has revealed he could work longer than initially anticipated after admitting 'experience' has helped him.

The Manchester City boss has previously spoken about a short time in football management with interests away from the game.

But the Spaniard has extended his contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2023, which would take his Premier League stay to seven years and now the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager insists retirement is at the back of his mind."

The only negative was Rodri’s first half display really, he was caught in possession a few times

Dias has been a great signing, still only 23 which is hard to believe
Finally Cancelo is beginning to show what he’s about, brilliant again
Stones continues to impress and Gundogan’s having a fine season

Actually, it was what you might call "Pep talk" i.e. a direct quotation (and one which he didn't need to make).

If City are going to win the league they need to show some consistency-   The next 6 games are key. Previously they would take 18 points from these games.

The game after Burnley is Liverpool.

Brighton H
Palace  H
Villa  H
WB  A
SU  H
Burnley A

LOLLOL

He did f**k all all season Cancelo, hardly relevant to City a goal in the most forgetful round of international games in a long while.

The real surprise of today for me was Walker getting picked ahead of TAA, who is one of the best right backs in the world, not to mention Wan Bisakka (is he even in the squad?) and Rhys James
Looked a year ago that Walkers England career was over

Southgate must be another manager who knows less about football than Brendy, as well as Guardiola who’d Walker his outright first choice right back all season

Have you changed your mind yet on Cancelo RB? A far superior player to Kyle Walker.

The last half a dozen games he’s started to show what the fuss was about, been very good. He took his time settling in
Different type of RB to Walker

Made hard work of that tonight. Why’s Sterling allowed near penalties?

Still not scoring many against the teams outside the “big 6”
1 scored only against west ham, sheff utd, brighton, Leeds, Southampton, west brom
Makes me think this run of fixtures might not be as straight forward as they should be

be very hard now to choose between cancelo and walker for the RB spot...I’d shade it with walker just because of his pace alone.stones and Dias rock solid again tonight...stones with a great bloke near the end to spot Brighton maybe getting a point.

First half was good but pep has to hold his hands up for the poor showing in the second half...marhez playing center forward, takes him off for Jesus who goes left midfield and Silva center forward....the shape was all wrong and players were all over the shop.sterling looks shot of confidence...19goals at this stage last season just 7 now.

I’ve no worries about Sterling, you know what you’re gonna get with him, he stretches defences, works hard and makes things happen. He’ll also score plenty and miss plenty. He was good against United and Chelsea I thought.

The whole teams scoring is well down on recent seasons

Foden the top scorer with 8 now.

Sterlings always been miss 3 to get 1 type of player but his confidence is seriously shot in front of goal lately...his all round play is ok but in front of goal this season he sh*ts his bags.

Foden is an unbelievable player...he has the potential to be better than KDB..city look a far better side with him in it.

Scoring is down yes...but I think there’s more of a win ugly way about us now..just get the result and move on and we could be in the mix end of season.you have to give pep some plaudits for getting the back line sorted..even though it took him €300 million 😳😆

Yeah he’s got a settled defence and as a team they’re looking more solid
Fair play to him for getting Stones back to his best

Since the 1-1 draw at home to WB they have now won 8 games in a row and only conceded 2 goals.

Hitting top form with a nice run of games coming up.

Never had to get out of 2nd gear tonight and there’s a nice run of 4/5 very winnable games up next...then comes a run of Liverpool,Spurs, arsenal, monchengladbach, west ham and then man utd so really can’t slip up over next few games.
