The PL record : Man United 9 Ipswich 0

Has to be under major threat unless they take pity on them.

When I seen 5-0 after 18 mins I was sure they would get double figures.
Haven’t seen the highlights yet but I believe they hit the post twice.

Watched the highlights this morning, could’ve easily been 11 or 12. As you say they hit the woodwork, keeper made a few good saves & 3 or 4 near misses too. Complete domination not seen since Bohs UCD last month Big smile

Not sure if Foden is back to full fitness, he missed the last few games through injury/illness

Paul Scholes meanwhile said last week that Foden's in the best place

The thing is, Rice was effectively leading WHU at his age, and Rashford had made his debut for England. I take the argument that you grow under Pep, but a year in Germany or Spain, or starting for a Watford may have done wonders for him. Mason Mount is certainly the better for hisnyear at Derby.

There's an even better example:
"At the age of 14, [Jadon Sancho] moved to Manchester City in March 2015 for an initial fee of £66,000 under the EPPP, potentially rising to £500,000 with add ons. Sancho continued to impress in the Manchester City academy and was one of a trio of players that the Manchester City chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, said would be fast tracked into the senior set up in May 2017. In July 2017, Sancho was omitted from Manchester City's pre-season tour squad due to a dispute over assurances of playing time in a new contract. It was subsequently reported that Sancho was attempting to force a move away from the club. Sancho signed for German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund on 31 August 2017 for a fee reported to be in the region of £8 million and was immediately included in the first-team squad"

And he's been breaking records ever since:

"Having signed a new contract keeping him at the club until 2022, Sancho enjoyed a successful October 2018 by being named Bundesliga Player of the Month, registering three goals and an assist in just three league games. Included among his goals for the month was a brace in a win over Hertha BSC which saw him become the first player born in the 2000s to score twice in a single Bundesliga match and the youngest ever by a Dortmund player.

During a 3–3 draw with Hoffenheim on 9 February 2019, he became the youngest-ever player to score eight goals in a single Bundesliga season, breaking the record previously held by Christian Wück. Later that month, upon scoring in a 3–2 win over Bayer Leverkusen, he broke Lukas Podolski's record to become the youngest player to score nine Bundesliga goals, aged 18 years and 336 days. On 13 April, Sancho scored a brace in a 2–1 win over Mainz and in doing so became the youngest-ever Dortmund player to score at least 10 goals in a single Bundesliga campaign. Following an impressive league campaign in which he scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists, Sancho was named in the 2018–19 Bundesliga Team of the Season."

To paraphrase Jim Bowen, "Now, Phil, let's see what you could have won..." LOL

He wouldn't have won the domestic treble elsewhere anyway, that's for sure.

Maybe not, but Foden has statistically achieved vastly less than Sancho has. Medals can be won while warming the bench, and making fleeting appearances. Sancho’s personal stats are miles better.

What?

And you reckon Foden "won" it last season?

Still, maybe he'll go on to add a Champions League medal and put him into this esteemed company:

They wouldn't have won the league without his goal against Spurs in April. As important a goal as Kompany's against Leicester, or Aguero's at Burnley, or Sane's at home to Liverpool.
As I've always said anytime you bring up this Foden obsession, next year is the big one for him.
Once David Silva retires its make or break for him at City. I'm pretty sure given what Guardiola has said about him that he'll be ok

But if he is waiting his turn, surely a year elsewhere could help him?

I wouldn't be that much against a year's loan. Guardiola completely ruled it out though when asked about it last season

Which is exactly the point.

PG is keeping him close at hand as his 6th or 7th choice midfielder just in case he has a rash of injury/suspension/loss of form, regardless of how unlikely that is, and irrespective of how that is holding back Foden's development.

Which he's able to get away with, since Foden signed a six year contract(!), meaning he has none of the bargaining power which eg Sancho used so successfully.

All of which comes back to Guardiola and his complete ruthlessness when it comes to winning games: he actually doesn't care who he uses towards that end.

Don't get this Foden nonsense. He get's plenty of game time for a young player, with the best manager in the world playing and training with some of the the best players in the world. Why would he leave?

If it's the same situation in 2 years time you'd have a point
Romario 2016: And the ticket mafia gets caught! Well, four years ago I had already told the government.
