They said the same about Arsenal's Invincibles and Chelsea in 2005. Rovers in 2010. Doesn't always work out that way. It's not Romania in the 80's. |

It was a sickeningly good period for them. Not to mention 2 recent league titles.
Arsenal never really had a period of domination IMO as they never won back to back league titles.

Amazing yes but after 2006, United won 5 of the next 7 League titles. |

That chant "you live in the past, you live in the past, just like united, you live in the past" has to be one of the most arse clenching chants I've ever heard

Would you be of the same opinion if it didn't mention United? Genuine question.

Very much so. A club that has a history basically starting in 2007 probably have nothing better to be chanting about in fairness.

As good as Liverpool were I have to say Man City were abysmal. They looked absolutely rattled as soon as the game kicked off. Bottled it would be the most appropriate term.
If Jose Mourinho sent a team out who performed like City did in the first half the Internet would go into meltdown. |

Ederson, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Sane, Silva, Jesus, Walker and Otamendi all had poor games.
The whole team was set up around Sane as the focal point of the attack. He gave a bad pass on the edge of the box which set Liverpool away for their first goal, shortly after he pulled a shot wide when he’d options both right and left, second half he had an easy chance to square it to Jesus for a tap in but overcooked the cross out of play, and several other times he lost possession or was dispossessed by Arnold. De Bruyne was Citys best player and Laporte wasn’t too bad either. Frustrating overall, especially as I’d have loved to have seen this city team up against Real, Barca or Bayern to see how they compare, but the old anfield hoodoo (and klopps great record over Guardiola) strikes again |

Just because they became good then doesn't mean they have a rich history..There's more to football than the top 4 of the Premier League you know

And if Jose Mourinho had performed a bit better in his time at old Trafford so far then this comment would maybe be relevant |

The club have more relevant trophies pre 2007 than post 2007. It was a wind up. |

The game on Sat gives the players a chance to redeem themselves straight away.
Will Pep pick the same team or drop a few of them? |
