Expect both Ramblers and Drogheda to be fined in the coming days for invading the pitch and violent behaviour. Some disgraceful carry on both at the game and on the street outside the ground last night.

Costs money to have them at games...money which Ramblers unfortunately do not have so have to rely on volunteers on matchdays.

Majority of the Cobh crowd involved were not even at the game and from what I'm told are local young lads who fancy themselves as hard nuts. The video on Facebook shows them as the ones throwing the stones and rocks at the Drogheda fans who naturally reacted to it.

There had been a bit of niggle during the game, when Drogs scored the fans invaded the pitch and charged toward a corner of Rams fans. At the end of the game then a group of 10 or so ramblers 'fans' took a run across at the Drogheda crowd but we're stopped. They then appeared to have joined their friends outside waiting for the Drogs to exit the away section and got the hiding they so seeked.

A few mammies on Facebook saying their little angels got concussions but nothing more than that.

Wexford had conceded 9 goals in their final two PD games going into the play-off. I felt the Drogs really needed to score first to take advantage of Wexford`s poor confidence but it wasn`t to be. And when Wexford scored a late 2nd goal, you almost feel that the tie is over.

But it should be a good 2nd leg on Fri night in Drogheda. Both sides are fairly evenly matched and neither side wants to spend next season in the wastelands of Div 1. I`m biased here in hoping the Drogs get through, because they`ve two Hoops players, Richie Purdy and Gareth Mc Caffrey, both playing for them. Also, they`ll put it up to Dundalk next season in derby games and United Pk is a lot handier to get to than Ferrycarrig Big smile

FAI sentenced a few league of Ireland clubs to a death sentence today with their decision to scrap the play offs.

A repeat of someone running away with the league like Limerick did last year and it will render the last couple months of the season utterly pointless. Be some going trying to get crowds in for games that mean feck all.

Disaster is an understatement they could have thrown in a play off against a premier division side.

Always going to be a graveyard untill there is relegation to regionalised provisional leagues in a propper pyramid system for senior football in this country.unfortunately I cant see it happen in my life time.

It's nice to see this thread being resurrected. Only 2 goals scored in the 3 first division games last night.
It's good to see the crowds coming back to the RSC in Waterford after a few bad years. There was just under 2000 at last home game compared to average of 300 or so last season. With no play offs this year which is ridiculous there's going to be a tough battle for the league title and promotion.
