I have always hated the way the English regard their FA Cup. They love their cup upsets and given that logic they would end up with a fianl between Chesterfield and Colchester. Why do the bigger teams bother playing their full sides when they could just as easily play reserves and rest their first team players for their more important League and Champions League games?

There are friendlier places to drink.

Unfortunately it's definately losing it's appeal. This is shown when  the likes of Arsenal, Man U and the mighty Pool all fielded weakened sides at the weekend

FFS..that's no excuse for losing at home to Barnsley with the Squad Liverpool have got..same as its no excuse for TOP FOUR Everton gettin beat at home to League One Oldham...I still like it when me own team is in it..a trophy is still a trophy which means a lot to fans and players alike

No excuse is right JS but that's the way football is unfortunately going; they prioritise in relation to what competition make more money.
I would extremely doubt that 10 years ago, a Liverpool side would have rested 2 of their best players in the last 16 of the FA Cup regardless of the opposition...

I doubt any manager with half a brain would rest his 3 best players on the last 16 of the FA cup when his position is already under threat.

The best cup games are the semi's of the Cola Cola cup you always get smashing matches in it.
