Baldrick in sensible post shocker -

Att wheelo i am happy for the YBIG Mandate group to reflect my views and speak in my interests on behalf of independent and indeed SC members - that is quite separate to the YBIG Website

Did you sign up btw ? just out of interest

I did sign up - as a show of support for those at the time who were obviously going against Delaney/ supporters club, etc.

Many saw the light eventually, thankfully. Better late than never

Have no problem with the mandate or gspain as the fans rep as he is someone who I’ve “known” online for over 20 years as a loi and I know he was the right intentions.

The ybig website/ Twitter handle should make it clear it is making posts on behalf of the couple of people who post from it and not on behalf of ybig if that’s the case

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) is pursuing a High Court claim of negligence against Deloitte, its former auditors, over its work on the association’s accounts during the John Delaney era.

Going since 2020🤔

Couldnt find an appropriate spot for these tweets from Rowan (happy to move if anyone can advise), but it looks like the FAI are continuing to have issues, split board this time 6-5!Not a great look for an organisation hoping to improve it's image.

@paulrowantree
Good source: FAI Board last night on a vote of 6-5 refused to approve nominations for President and Vice President and Directors because of a lack of female nominees. the respective Chambers must reconsider nominations to ensure that 40% target of female Board members is met.

Major split: i believe five who voted for approving were Paul Cooke (President nominee) Joe O’Brien (likewise) John Finnegan (vice Pres nominee) Robert Watt (indep) Packie Bonner (Indep)
Chairman Barrett led the other side. swing of FAI Pres McAnaney into his camp was crucial

I thought Barrett was moving on/being moved on? Would be no loss whatsoever in my view.

Such a load of f**king nonsense these gender quotas.

Just get the best men or women for the job!

Its ridiculous that anyone might miss out on a position because of their gender rather than their qualifications and experience for the role.

Its pure tokenism and anything but equality.

What is ridiculous is the FAI showing itself up to be completely split on the issue. Surely you get agreement privately among board members before putting such a thing to a vote. Messy nonsense.

Even if your argument had any merit, the FAI coming out and saying such a thing publicly in this day and age would be an absolute PR disaster.

Also as far as I am aware this is either law or soon to become law - “Ireland will take action ahead of an EU directive that will require companies to have 40% female non-executive directors or 33% among all directors by 2026."

John Delaney loses appeal over seized documents (rte.ie)

The Court of Appeal has dismissed former FAI CEO John Delaney's appeal against a decision allowing the Corporate Enforcement Agency (CEA) access certain documents it seized as part of a criminal investigation into the football association.

Delaney's son (if he has one) will be the head of the FAI before any of this goes to court
It would damage this forums' reputation

He’s very limited in what he can do now. There is over 350,000 documents searched already so this 1,000 probably will do for him.

I really hope he gets done.
