I think he has a right to give a sh*t. He had the balls to call for Trap to be sacked despite being informed by a well known FAI official that his tickets would be stopped if he did. A prominent supporters club compared him to England fans for this relatively fair and vocal criticism of a manager and an administration. He was prevented from entering a ground by same FAI official and the CRISC / FAI insinuated he was a known trouble maker in a statement. His season ticket was cancelled on the basis of a tongue in cheek badly placed internet post. This same post was used to try and damage his character.

Given what we now all know of the FAI; it's fairly reasonable for him to call out various supporters groups for clarifications on various matters impacting on Irish football. It appears some supporters clubs may have acted in their own selfish interests and it's reasonable to challenge and query this. This isn't divisive per se; it's constructive and transparent.

Great post.

Unfortunately, there is a culture in Ireland of people wanting to sweep things under the carpet.

This is simple. Two fans were practically labelled hooligans. They are identifiable as their names were in the media. It was a rotten thing to do and at the very least, CRISC should have clarified the 'statement'.

Could they not have sued for defamation instead of asking for apologies on an internet forum? Not trying to sound smart but I would have taken it a lot further if my name was slandered.

nobody in CO88 called them that , seems to me CO88 is being unfairly maligned here and the lads who were also maligned without cause are happy to allow that to happen , loads of lads in CO88 have always supported pipkin against JD .

this is complete bullsh*t imo and smacks of being a sore winner . Pipkin was right all along and now he is taking the good out of it .

Its time to take JD out and then make sure his successor reforms/disbands the CRISC and sets up a fair ticketing system
The first time the Devil made me do it. The second time I did it on my own.

I think eveyone knows fans had nothing to do with statement. No issue with any club over it. CRISC should have cleared it up at the time.

But time to move on.

We contacted all clubs at the time personally and not one apologized and one very prominent drummer tore pipkins character asunder on liveline. I was the subject of threats online from another member of a a well known sc.

Roger.  Is class of 88 a member of Crisc or was it a member at the time the statement was released and did it remain a member until quite recently a long time after the statement was released.   If so it implies they supported the statement or at least didn’t oilfield distance themselves from it.

CO88 was set up as a tactical device to the ticketing procesures that were being set up and as a way that fans thought they could get tickets and they wouldn’t be victims like what happened at Celtic park.

However if there are so called benefits there are also issues with being part of an organisation. Which is when a statement is released by that organisation as a member your agreement with said statement is implied unless you publicly denounce it or leave the organisation as a result of said statement.

CO88 members can’t have it both ways and let pipkin and others out to dry. They were not the only club and the crowd should have cleared it up.

Confirm what  ? the great Co88/CRISC split came a day after the FAI appearance at the Oireachtas hearing  - (well after your nuptials )

maybe the Oireachtas hearing and the split were related  ?
