Sorry! My point is, having watched the game several times, Colombia didn’t have it all their own way, which makes the result more extraordinary.

Ah ok, that's fair enough. When you see the Argentine team you would expect that. This was two very good teams and Colombia went to that World Cup expecting to mount a challenge.

I will admit a little obsession with that Colombian team. And of course the story around it is something unbelievable. I think Pele might have tipped them to lift the ‘94 World Cup, but the politics that surrounded the team on arrival was impossible to shake off. By 1998 they were too old and had lost Escobar (RIP), and Alvarez, while Valencia had totally lost form. It was a real shame.

People maybe don't remember, but there wasn't anything between Zidane and Platini (imo).

If you look at their individual records (Serie A titles, Ballons D'Or, international medals etc), Platini's CV is right up there with ZZ's, while his goalscoring record is much better.

And while each was clearly the best player in his respective French NT, Platini was their clear leader/captain from a young age, whereas it was Laurent Blanc and Didier Deschamps who filled that role when ZZ was playing for his country.

Old enough to play Bergkamp as a central midfielder.

The rules were not that you had to see them play but that they had to have played during your lifetime. The Galloping Major just about made it in LOL

Your lifetime? You have plenty of scope to work with there.
You could have stuck the original Greek Socrates in there, he could have been the brains of your team 😁

Shev and Van Basten both played for AC.

Cannavaro and Zidane both played for Juve and Real

I’m sure there are other mistakes.
