Unless Arsenal have a massive upturn in performance away from home, not to mention get a bit of steel and set of balls about them, then I can only see one winner.

I would barely fancy Arsenal to go to Brighton on a 1-1 first leg score and get through these days.

Watching the likes of Godin, Oblak and co you can see why. The best of the best defensively individually added to a serious defensive system. Watching the Arsenal game last week against them, what struck me time and again was how they made every single right decision defensively even against 10 men. They just never panicked while camped deep in their box. Godin is one of my favourite players ever at this point. A proper joy to watch.

Emery board choice. Hopefully this doesn't rub the supporters the wrong way.  He is known for getting plenty of stick.

I think the board did the right thing.
Arteta was too bold a move with no experience.

Emery ticks a lot of boxes.
Champions league experience and won everything domestic at PSG.
With a smaller budget won 3 Europa leagues.

Still a very tough job ahead.

Looks a good choice, go for experience and maybe once he moves on in a few years you can get Arteta or Viera

Emery is very abrasive. Rubbed Neymar up the wrong way.

Was that against Monaco who won 18 of the last 20 games in the league - drawing the other 2!

His team did get 87 pts which would have won most seasons.
Monaco just had an unbelievable season.

His team did batter them in both domestic cups
5-0 and 4-1

Decent appointment considering Arsenal aren't a top level European club anymore. Would hope he can repeat his Europa league successes. Regardless of the appointment, I'm more worried about the repeated claims about only 50m being available for transfers.
