@terri

Dan Ballard has been quality for Sunderland this season.

You think Trai Hume will play much in the forthcoming internationals?

The tickets for this are like gold dust.

I was planning to go if it had been on the Saturday

Ballard's a shoo-in, even were JEvans (injured) to be available.

As for Hume, I'm not sure. Partly because we don't know how the new manager will approach selection, including his preferred format.

If he goes 3 at the back, I doubt Hume will start, since we have Ballard, Cathcart and Brown (LCB) for those slots. While Conor Bradley would be nailed down to play RWB, and he could even give Bradley's teammate, Eoin Toal, his senior debut at RCB, since those are the positions they play together at their club.

Hume might get a game at RB if he goes for a 4 at the back, though he might just pull Bradley back there, or try Toal, or even use McNair?

We have plenty of choice on the right side of defence and midfield, but are down to the bare bones down the left.

Ironically Sunderland were heavily linked with Eoin Toal at one point.

Who knows, if Bolton don't get promoted, maybe they'll come back in for him? Certainly seems to have made the transition from DCFC/LOI very comfortably last year, even despite being 23 at the time.

O'Neill recently talked about Toal possibly being another Gareth McAuley. That is, after 5 years in the Irish League, McAuley left Coleraine for League Two Lincoln aged 24. Then played nearly 200 Championship games for Ipswich and Leicester before making his PL debut with WBA aged 31, where he went on to become a real fans' favourite over 7 seasons and 203 PL games. Made his NI debut aged 26, but still gained 80 caps/9 goals.

I can't believe that it's 33 years ago today since what  was to be known as the Kieron Brady game.

It was also the last time I missed a Sunderland home game!

Dan Ballard went off injured for the Nordies with a hamstring injury.

Just when he's been playing so well for Sunderland too.

I feel sorry for him completely different player to Ross Stewart but expected to play his role.

Can't fault him for effort and he deserves his place in the team.

Not a great game last night DM , now both side had chances but a draw was a fair result .
The Clarets never got going to be honest .

Good result last night, To go to a place like Burnley isn't easy especially with the injuries we have and on another day possibly could of even nicked a win, You can sense there's a real togetherness in this Sunderland team but going forward it is crucially important that we keep the core of this squad together Referring back to one of my old post's, This season will probably be remembered for what ifs but it's been a great first season back in the Championship and it's all about building on it now
