Sunderland Thread

Already proven his worth at Championship level while still relatively young, so could well develop to PL level (if not for a Top Six club).

Has picked up his share of injuries, but probably a consequence of his physical playing style, rather than any inherent fragility. And recently an increasing threat at corners and free kicks too.

Seems to have a good character, too - eg never hides for NI, even with results going against us. 

P.S. I read somewhere that it was Kompany personally who wanted him for Burnley, rather than their recruitment people. Dunno why that move fell through, but if true, then that's a pretty good reference.
