He had a bad run last time and couldn't buy a goal but to his credit you could never fault him for effort. Even at 34 he should be an asset in League One.

I agree at division one level he could certainly do a job.

Ipswich supposed to be interested in him too.

Former Sunderland Academy and reserve Dub Jack Connollly and another Dubliner Robert Dunne who played for SAFCs Academy too have both ended  up at Cabinteely.

Good luck to them both.

Re Brendan.

I'm sure ALL the Cabinteely fans on here do and obviously you do or you wouldn't have replied.

Savage criticism of Sunderland by Lewis Morgan, who spent half a season there on loan, in an Open Goal interview. Describes the club as a shambles, riven by cliques and hampered by high earners that Jack Ross could not shift, including Cattermole, who was not on speaking terms with McGeady. The latter was easily the club's best player in Morgan's view but ultra ruthless and prone to calling people out. Parkinson couldn't handle him and took the decision to ostracise him.

Yea I saw that that Simon Ferry does some good interviews with former Celtic players I particularly liked the Aiden McGeady and Ross Wallace ones.

Sunderland at home to Bristol Rovers first match.

Last match of the season home to Northampton.

Pompey and Ipswich away both midweek games.

Thanks EFL.

Useful workout for Sunderland yesterday in a 3 1 win over Gateshead.

Diamond Hume and Grigg the pick of the players.

Bring on the Carlisle.

Big smile

3 1 Victory for Sunderland against Carlisle yesterday.

Two goals from big Chas and one from Chris Bhoy Maguire.

I thought the best Sunderland players were Scowen Neil McLaughlin and Diamond.

Sunderland Echo singled out Wyke, Neil and Scowen . The latter's nickname is 'The Rat' , apparently- not very flattering but a reference to his tenacious style. I rated him when he was at QPR and was surprised he didn't feature more often last season for Sunderland. Diamond appears to be a glittering prospect...a hidden gem, so to speak, until now.
