It was his attitude when manager that completely turned a lot of fans off him. Saying things like 'San Marino will cause teams problems' after we scraped past them and being so bull headed about being the right person in charge when he was so clearly out of his depth really annoyed me at the time.

Great player but really let himself down when manager IMO
I dont email the count anymore, its been 9 months : ( He even sent me a YBIG scarf for my Birthday

San Marino lost 13-0 to Germany and then 7-0 to the Czech's

Stan in his presser said that they are tightening up at the back

We eventually won 2-1!

Same. Such a terrrific player. Loved him at centre half in the twilight of his career

The exact quote is

" San Marino got done 13 and then got done seven, so that shows they have tightened things up."

Came across this.  Looks like Wroclaw stadium he is in.  The Croatian manager (aka Jimmy Connors) is giving some sort of seminar on scouting.  Subtitles in Polish and English for those who struggle to understand him.

His first game in charge v Sweden had a good result and things went downhill after the defeat to the Dutch.
Bad results and Cyprus and injury time winners v San Marino didn't help.
Late goals v Slovakia and Wales cost us a win.
Was it all that bad? I forget if he was trying to put his own stamp on things and change the style of play.
Should he have been given more time?

According to the SK logic of his advocates then yes. He finished 3rd in a very tough group. Finished above 3 half decent teams who we'd struggle to beat now. But he should have been sacked. Defensively we were a shambles under Stan because he was a poor tactician. Traps defence was outstanding from 2008 to pre Euro 12 because of astute tactical set up. Kenny will not succeed without a solid defensive base.

AIM de gyaffar did ok in hindsight.  The only disasters being the Holland, Cyprus and San Marino games.  Holland was a friendly and he wasn't in charge for Cyprus.   He beat the Danes 4-0 away, Sweden 3-0 at home and scored 4 goals in two away games to Slovakia and Wales.

#justiceforgyaffarstan

Bring him back.  He has unfinished business.
