From the Q&A yesterday he goes to say he will consider it after this campaign and it depends on the draw for the next. From what i can understand is that he wont play if we get a tough group.

But maybe i read it all wrong

erimus it is a bleeding disgrace I agree but not really that surprising, as soon as players hit 30 now it seems they think that they can't play club and international football and of course (money) want to prolong their club careers, don't imagine Finnan will be the only one to bow out after this campaign, Carsley, Kilbane etc

Finnan is a class player but this doesn't surprise me.  Opted out of Bratislava/Prague and came back the following Saturday for Liverpool not a bother on him.
We'll never die, we'll never die, we'll keep the Green Flag flying high......Shamrock Rovers will never die, we'll keep the Green Flag Flying high. 19 Leagues and 25 Cups.....

Finnan - a player who on his day is a world class right back..........however i too question his attitude - esp since pulling out recently

Seems a selfish modern day player to me - plays for club no pride for the country onlyi nterested in his own careers rather than the team

Didn't he declare himself fit for the liverpool euro final only to be replaced at half time

Also did this for ireland in cyprus with Kerr.  We got a jammy 1 nil win after he was subbed after declaring himself fit and i have heard he had a big row with kerr and fcuked off at half time.  Coming out of the game at the end he was already changed and on the team bus, not a bother on him about the game or his fellow players.

Kerr was rite then a while back when he says a lot of players in the dressing room couldnt give a f**k bout international football. Its all about the money league.

If they don't care about playing for their country then they should be sent home, regardless of how good they are.... I would rather see a bunch of lads playing there hearts out cause they a proud to be wearing the green than a half-arsed performance buy someone who is too worried about his money league than giving 100%
