I think 4 players have paid tribute to SK on social media since he was let go. Can we draw any conclusions about opinions of the dressing room from this?

Its 4 more than McCarthy or ONeill got. I dont ever recall any other Irish managers getting tributes, in fact players came out publicly criticizing managers like ONeill and Trap soon after they were sacked.

Seems at odds with the claims of universal support from the dressing room. I can't recall, what were the criticisms of McCarthy or O'Neill. Was it lack of tactics?

Looks like Neil Lennon wants a crack. Surely a big step up over Kenny.

Quite a few did. Cullen, Egan, Duffy also.
Wouldn't read too much into it though, some players more active on social media than others.

And some social media accounts are ran by their agents/social media management team.

Aye, I'd imagine so.

No players back a manager that has brought them unprecedented success.

A good few players back a manager that has brought them unprecedented failure

I think the players liked SK as a person, if they admired the work he did as Ireland manager, you would need to question their sanity. But most players usually don't think beyond their own narrow self-interest. We might know what they thought of SKs time with Ireland when they are flogging their biographies!

When SK took charge we were ranked 34, we are now ranked 60th. He probably won't include that detail on his CV. Obviously not all down to him, but a lot of it is, although SK would disagree.

Aye, that's not how a CV works, TOFT.

The joining up with Lincoln rumours appear to be unfounded. Wonder would he take a L2 job instead of a return to LOI?

Just to convert it to UEFA teams we were the 20th ranked UEFA team when he took over and now we're ranked 29th.

At the beginning of this year we were ranked 24th which would have been enough for second seeds in the upcoming WC qualifiers now that it's 12 groups rather than 10.
