Given
Finnan Dunne McShane(if fit?) o'shea
Hunt Ireland Carsley McGeady
Doyle keane(prefer connolly)
Harte couldn't pass the ball against san marion and is $hite
Carr is the same as above
keane is the biggest whinge bag that runs around with his arms in the air - 5 club managers cant be wrong.
Duff needs a kick up the arse - hasnt been good enuf last 2/3 seasons
I would have Hunt, connolly, mcgeady carsley all in purely to form this season. Wales are $hite bar bellamy and giggs so nothing to fear in picking the hungrier players. Dunne and mcshane will bully bellamy out of the game and finnan with his going forward will keep giggs too deep to be a threat(if he plays wide left)
R.Keane made a good point yesterday when he said its insane not to pick form players.

Given
Finnan McShane O'Dea/Dunne O'Shea
McGeady Carsley Ireland Hunt
Folan Doyle
O'Dea looks like a class young player and think that he should be given a chance, but would probably have Dunne in there for the time being.
Hunt looked lively and looked like he could cause full backs a problem when he cam on against San Marino.
Would have McGeady on because i genuinely think he is one of the most talented players to come out of Ireland in recent years.
Would have Folan in there because he is big and strong, and is on form at the moment. Reckon he might be a bit of a Jon Stead - have one stormer of a season after coming up from a lower league - so we might as well use him now when he is on form.

I stand by dropping them Ger. They brough nothing to the team on Saturday. Hunt did more in the short time he was on than Duff.
As for Robbie, I like the guy, but since he was made captain he thinks he has to be every where on the pitch. Just play up front Robbie, because when he aint there nobody is, especially when he's up there with Duffer.
I like both of the players and think they are very talented, but neither are doing it at club or international level at the minute. May be dropping them will provide them with the kick up the ass they need to get them back to their best!

that was probably Duffs best performance in about 2 years. At least he was taking players on again. As for Keane, I'd probably say the same thing, as it was a much better perofrmance that he has been giving, even though he still wasnt great. Huge game on Wednesday now!

It may have been there best performance in 2 years but it still was no where near there best. We have all seen Robbie and Damo play much better in the Premiership. Do we really have to settle for them giving an average performance just because its the best they have played for us in a while??
We should be able to expect their performance on Saturday to be under par compared to their normal best, not as them playing well, compared to their normal crap.
As I said in the above post I really do think that the 2 lads are talented players, but have been playing way below their best for us. Whether this is down to the manager or the players themselves I dont know.
You seem to be a big Connolly fan Count - don't you think he deserves to be in ahead of Keane based on current form? I'm not a big fan of Connolly and dont personally think he should be in the team but think that Robbie isn't playing well enough to be in there, captain or not.

Well I think Connolly would have done a better job then Duff being started up front...what was that all about! Play your form players and you win games, not has-beens. therefore doyle and connolly should be the the starting pair on Wednsaday but wont happen as international campaigners like Stokes or Keogh (or Duff!) will be put up front in our most important match yet! absolute joke!
