Shane Long's goal doesn't look half as good from the low angle.

In anyway, here's some examples of better camera angles

Wembley and the Allianz Arena both have alternative camera positions that offer much better views. Germany beat Costa Rica 4-2 in Munich at the 2006 World Cup and the camera view was excellent for that game. However Bayern use an awful view nowadays.

Lansdowne Road did this when we played Russia a few years ago. The camera height was the same for both broadcasts though. However the alternative camera allowed for Russian advertising to a Russian audience.

When Liverpool changed it was a surprise. They went higher instead of lower. I wonder will that last?

The camera angle at the Allianz is the original ground level angle, that has been used since the first game there. The only exception being the 2006 WC.

Chelsea, West Ham, Bolton, Hull, all started out with high camera angles following the construction of new stands/stadiums. If UEFA regulations state Liverpool should have it by now, the only reason I can think it hasn't happened, is lack of space. Looking at the nature of the stand, there just doesn't seem to be the facility to put a camera there atm.

Think I prefer the low angles there. Definitely the Munich one. Seems more of a persepctive as to how little space players have.

Don't think it is a regulation. I think it's more the commercial side of things deciding where the cameras go.

The Allianz Arena camera is very low. Some people like this, but I really don't. If football is a game of space then such low camera angles only help rob the TV viewer of seeing that space.

Even before the mass commercialisation of football there were low camera angles used. I think the Mestalla always had the low camera angle that they still use, for instance.

But with the more modern stadiums it would be better if the TV viewer took precedence over other considerations, especially as these stadia have already employed superior camera angles.

Stadio Olimpico in Rome.  Makes the pitch look really long and narrow

Wembley looks sh*te on tv.  Camera angle is too low.  I also don't like the stadium.   Jacksonville should nuke it if they buy it.

It is actually quite difficult to watch, it is a little bit like those LOI streams you get from the betting sites.

That stupid roof putting a big shadow on the pitch is annoying .  They got a lot of basics wrong with that stadium

Wembley ( new ) is a horrible stadium......it looks very impressive but inside and as a football ground ( its intended purpose) it is crap ......soulless.....no atmosphere.....I have been there three times for games that meant something to me....Ireland , Watford v Palace and Spurs v Watford......best atmosphere ( for me ) was the Ireland game

Thought the camera angle today was crap also the shadow was playing havoc with the camera.

Like the Allianz Arena, the Stadio Olimpico is another stadium where they used a better camera view at a World Cup.

This World Cup has let us down. FIFA have sold out!

Too many low camera angle views.

You can watch people munching on their popcorn in the far stand, but play on the farside of the pitch is less clear.

Some adjustments are being made at Anfield for next season with a few extra camera positions being added in the Main Stand - I'm guessing it's primarily to keep you geeks on this thread happy !

Much nicer angle than the usual high one at Anfield tonight. When did they relocate?
