I assumed Collins was in as the physical man up top option. Why bother have him. Better options than Collins if it's just player based decision and not role of player.

Odowda has completed 90mins once in 17 league games. I think he falls under the same injury prone bucket as Brady, obafemi, connolly and Mccarthy.

He can be a good player on his day but having him available for internationals is 50/50 at best.

I think we can pretty much field a team of players that are not playing football at the moment which is a worry.

I'd love is his injuries were now behind h but at 26 I feel they're just going to get worse sadly.

Will Keane can fill in for Collins if we’re looking to go direct

I'd rather have seen Scott Hogan called up who at least is scoring for Birmingham. O'Dowda I have never been a huge fan of of course his injuries have played havoc on his career.

Hopefully in 2 years time Collins and O'Dowda won't be in the conversation with the greatest of respect to them.

Wonder what Dave Kitson is thinking now re O’Dowda’s career, Kitson thought O’Dowda was good enough to play for England but it really hasn’t worked out for him since he left Oxford.

It he gets into the match day squads this time

If we do ever play England in the very near future will it be the first time 2 brothers faced off in a international fixture?

Granit and Taulant Xhaka played against each other at Euro 2016. Jerome and Kevin-Prince Boateng played against each other at the world cup.

I like O'Dowda but he simply hasn't played enough the last while.

I know Hogan hasn't played well so far for Ireland but he deserved to be called up and would probably be more effective for us under Kenny's way of playing than Mick & O'Neill's direct style.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

For me, O Dowda isnt anywhere near international level. Made our squad when we were at our weakest point in a long long time. I'd imagine his days are numbered, and we wont see much of him once the younger lads start to come through

You would hope the likes of O'Dowda, Hourihane, Collins, Arter & Horgan are gradually phased out with better younger players emerging and getting more 1st team minutes (Elbouzedi, Taylor, Scully, Ronan etc.).

O'Dowda looked a very good prospect a few years ago but just never really kicked on. Has struggled with an awful lot of injuries last 2 years. Very similar to Browne in that sense, similar age and both looked very 3/4/5 years ago but their careers just stagnated.

Still only 26 though, still plenty of time to get back on track. Dont think he'll ever be a big player for us but can still be a decent squad option.

O'Dowda far too injury prone sadly.

Injuries don't seem to improve as players get older either...

I wouldnt say he overly is. He just happened to have 2 fairly bad injuries a short time apart. First one being his ankle from a bad challenge of which he needed surgery then the last year has all been his groin.

Hes made nearly 250 league appearances. Almost all of them before the age of 24.

Probably just needs a bit of luck to shake of the niggley injuries and get a run of a games.

if he gets fully fit he’s one of the most technically gifted players we have.

He really isn't... he's a direct winger with a half decent final ball. He doesn't have the technical ability required for a spell in the premier league.

Hes potentially a good Championship player.

I'm another fan of his, has always done OK when he's played for us and can imagine he would suit the current system very well. If he can stay fit then he is a definite contender for the role that McGrath has taken up in recent games.

Seems to be another player lost when it comes to his regular position. Doesnt have the pace to be a winger and if played as a forward, i dont think he has enough ability to conjure up creating enough chances/converting them.

Another lad that appears far too quiet on the pitch for my liking. What ever happened to lads with real personality? Nice lad im sure but that's the problem i reckon.

All of above is based on what i have seen of him in green. 23 caps and honestly, can't really think of him contributing anything of note? Massive few years for the lad. 27 in April.
