If he stays fit he'll be a decent signing,that's easier said than done though. On his day he's very good, and he's versatile, but he can be prone to making rash decisions a bit too regularly

He should be fine. While his international appearances have been limited over the last few years, that's mostly down to injuries rather than ability. Also, Uruguay are highly enough ranked. As a top ten team, he is only required to have played in 30% of their games over the last two years. He should be fine. He has six out of twenty, so 30%, based on my limited look at the figures.

And even if my figures are wrong, he will be fine, because it is injuries that have caused him issues, not ability.

Great performance by them. Think it could have been very different if Van Dijk was at the back for them. The disallowed goal after 10 minutes is so big though. Even for everything that happened after, it shouldn't be forgotten. For Southampton to have gone ahead of United would have totally changed how the game played out. It's such a bad call tbh and I've no idea how he got it wrong even without a tv replay.

In 2014/15, Southampton sold Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Calum Chambers and Rickie Lambert. They moved from eighth to seventh.

In 2015/16, Southampton sold Morgan Schneiderlin and Nathaniel Clyne. The moved from seventh to sixth.

In 2016/17, Southampton sold Sadio Mane, Graziano Pelle, Victor Wanyama and Jose Fonte. They moved from sixth to eighth.


I think the large part of that is down to picking the Right managers. 

Other clubs should take note.

Embarrassing that a large amount of our fans have been very vocal about wanting Puel out. I believe the atmosphere has become really poisonous which is a pity. Puel has done a good job getting us to a Wembley Final, an 8th placed finish although with low amount of points and goals but he has done so without so many key players and strikers that can't score...Some of our 'fans' need a reality check and need to look where we have come from
