Fair play for him calling it out and more so being in internal looking view on Irish football rather than in a FAI v GAA way.

There is absolutely no vision in any of the clubs for real facilities. Even if something does get built its a bog standard stand. Thats it. Nothing creative, no corporate boxes etc which could bring in revenue with parties, functions or whatever. Look at the likes of Finn Park United Park in Drogheda or basically any ground in the league. They are laughable.

I agree. Too easy for clubs to give out about the fai and government. What annoys me is that clubs aren’t forced to put a percentage (say 10 per cent) of all their income into a fund for facilities instead of spunking it all away on players wages. If clubs started doing something like that, they’d have more of an argument to moan about lack of fai or government funding

Not really a one size fits all there some clubs own their own ground , some don’t .

Clubs that don’t own their ground have put money into the grounds themselves in the past. It’s up to clubs to decide if they want their supporters to benefit from improved facilities or even try attract new supporters. Though you’re rights, it’s not a one size fits all. Those that have adequate grounds should still be forced to put the same percentage of income towards other medium/ long term benefits like youth facilities, etc. The amount that clubs waste on wages when they don’t even have basic stadiums, youth set ups, etc is criminal

can't really see much demand for corporate events at matches here unless a euro match that people will come to see the opposition with no real interest in the local team .It might work if you are having other events either Sport or entertainment in a multi use stadium but don't think any club that actually own their ground can do that much .
