Selby is 7-2 down.
Be some shock if he got beat in the first round.

Selby got beat 10-4. The top half of the draw is wide open now.

I was watching Ding last night and this morning, he looks in great form. Available at 17/2 with some bookies too.

Who's the Irish woman doing the interviews on Eurosport this year? She kind of seems out of place. Some random D4er.

FFS Higgins is gonna win.
If he does that will be No.5, same as Ronnie.

I was hoping Ding would win it once Ronnie / Selby went out.

I was hoping Ding would win too. They said the other day that if Ding won they reckoned the prize money for the tournaments would fairly quickly at least be double what it is now due to the effect it would have on interest in the sport in China. So it would really be in the interests of all the players for it to happen. It would be funny if one year they all fixed it to let Ding win.Not that any players would get up to that kind of thing. Wink

Williams is leading Higgins 10-7 after the 2 sessions yesterday.

Hopefully he wins it.
Never liked Higgins.

Both lads are in their 40’s. That’s not good for the sport.
Not a lot of new blood coming into the sport.

Just picked up a few tickets for the semi finals next year, both of them.

Missed out on final tickets.

Yep talent wise the golden era was in the 90's. The new bunch never reached the same level, even some of the Chinese who ylu thought would have taken it over by now.

It's a bit of an unforgiving skill to craft though. Hours upon hours indoors with very little exercise potting balls. Not like other sports where you are at least very mobile while you put the hours in and where at least if you don't reach the top level the work you do has an added health benefit. Fellas that don't reach the top level at snooker that I've seen it's very grim, playing against the same people in the local snooker hall for hours on end betting against each other

I think where snooker has potential to grow huge is if they got a couple of really good female players that can compete against the top man. It's probably one major sport followed (in this market anyway) along with darts where the physical levels needed to be the best could be matched by both a male and female. If they got a superstar female (Like what Rounds Rousey did for female MMA) then they could really market that well and bring it back to mainstream.
