It's a 5-4-1 (not a 5-2-3) that turns into a 3-4-3 when attacking Thumbs Up

I said as much a couple of pages back that I would love to see us play 5-4-1 when defending and a 3-4-3 when attacking as it would suit our players and style of play because we put zero emphasis on our midfield (centrally more so) given that we play a long ball game which bypasses our midfield when looking to attack and when we're out of possession we don't press high, but retreat into our shell and just look to limit space centrally for the opposition which in turn makes the two ahead of Whelan largely redundant.

McCarthy will not be changing the team or formation . The only possible change I can see is Shane Long starting but more likely he'll bring him on as a sub for last 15
