This didn't totally 'sell out'.
It sold the allocated amount that MCD put on sale this morning.
They have ever so convienently announced that KOL will play the O2 on Dec 11th and tickets are on sale this Tues.
In order to hype demand for the O2 gig, they hype the 'sell out' of Slane in 40mins.
More Slane tickets will be released nearer to the gig as is always the case.
It mightn't be advertised, but you'll get them on ticketmaster.ie.
