Whats the craic with ‘new’ stand behind the goal having no seats? Did they have to take them out to replace seats in the riverside or elsewhere?

Ah right, never heard that. Suppose if it can happen with houses and apartment why would digy builders treat a football stand holding masses of people be any different.

My Dad and I were some of the very few who sat in  the stand regularly after it was built in 2000. It’s popularity grew towards the end of 2000/2001. I recall sitting in it and having a rather prophetic discussion with Tom Simmons where he told myself and the Da that Pats would beat Shelbourne comfortably the following week. He was right, Shels lost 4-1 and it was the start of the end for that season.

I enjoy watching the Loi, it’s a good standard of football, and shels and pats seem to get good crowds, which one would have the biggest support
