Can't look any further then Westwood but fingers crossed Henderson gets the nod for West Ham and impresses. Competition for places is always good.

Jääskeläinen is full of errors these days, I bet Henderson will get a chance before Christmas.

David Forde is Millwall No.1 btw. Only the Championship but at least it's regular football.

shay's been almost a constant in my time going to games.

he has worn the shirt with class, pride, honour and respect. he has produced some of the greatest performances i've ever scene for ireland (1-1 away in switzerland comes to mind- three point blank stops in the first twenty minutes).

I wouldnt be the type to have "heroes" but if you were trying to show any kids what to aspire to, i would have to say Shay would be more than worthy to fill the role.

Many Thanks Shay and I wish you all the very best in your future. Thumbs Up

Great player and great fella, world class keeper!
Despicable some of the sh*t that's been said about him after euros. He could have done another campaign if dealt with better by trap!

Thanks for memories shay!!

I think it was the right call. Pains me to say it, but he was a shambles at the Euros and was making mistakes even before that (Armenia, Estonia at home)

Disapointed, as I expected to see him on international duty for a couple more years. My favourite player since McGrath. sad day but best of luck to him. Absolute legend

The amount of times he saved us down through the years is incredible. I still think the timing is right and he shouldn't have played in Poland, but as Irish football goes he's a legend in the true sense of the word
67% points to games ratio at the last Euro's (better than Portugal's)

Sad to see him go. His debut was in 1996 and he's been a class act ever since on and off the pitch. Pity about the Euros being his last competitive games. I do think he's made the right decision but we'll miss him. Thanks Shay Clap

I don't think trap would have picked him tbh. Trap would have felt let down by him declaring
His fitness at the euros. It would not surprise Me if trap forced his hand
