stephen geoghan? Has supple an actual day job tho? If so what is it

From memory, he wanted to train to be a chef. Don't actually know if that's the path he took.

Thought the same. Great achievement for him, albeit extremely random.

Yep, I hope it's fun.  I'd love a call up too, just for the experience.

Unfortunately Shane Supple will never be international class or considered for a senior competitive international.

It's a shame more effort hasn't been put in to trying to get the likes of Celtic's Conor Hazard or Leeds' Peacock O'Farrell on board, instead of standing aside and allowing NI be their sole opportunity.

it's not the fact he's ar an Irish club imo.more to do with the fact he voluntarily settled for an amateur career when he had the talent to go all the way. Personally think he is a futile inclusion who want help the national team's cause in the long run.

Look he's in the squad because we have a few absent goalkeepers, also I'd imagine Caoimhin Kelleher would have been considered and a better option if we are looking to the future but he is named in Liverpool's champions league squad. Yes it won't benefit Ireland in the long run but who's to say he will even earn a cap but you probably need 4 goalkeepers for training exercises and if he serves a purpose well fair enough.
time is the stuff that life is made of, don't waste it.

Exactly. Its extremely rare all 3 first team keepers are out injured at once and its essentially a battle for whos going to be 3rd choice keeper on the bench anyway.

I could see a reason for complaining if we didnt have any young lads in there but we've got..

O'Hara, our u21 keeper in there. Promising young lad at 22, but has yet to play a senior game for his and has only ever played a handful of games on loan.

Lawlor, our former u21. Still only 23 and was playing regularly enough in League One.

O'Malley, again 23 and starting to find game time in League One also.

What do people want? Who else is there?

Dundalk keeper Rogers was called up a couple of years ago and his form dipped a lot afterwards. If the same happens to supple bohs could be in trouble
