joking aside, both Rovers and boez had players with the under 21's last week

Yep and Byrne was with the seniors, so probably just too many contacts. Can see the season finishing now not many clubs will want to keep paying contracts .
Surely rovers games could go ahead, or is the situation there a lot more than 2 players?

There was 6 close contacts to greene, some interesting whispers going around that it should have been avoided..
Share the whispers pal, no holding back now. It’s a forum, where better for unfounded rumour?

Sam Curtis made his debut for Rovers II today at the age of 14 , a club record . Rovers won the game V Athlone Town 3-1 so I cant see Sam forgetting this for a while . Senior debut at 14 , gwan ya good thing Thumbs Up .

16 should be the law.

Dont care how big the player is.

Its not the 1970’s.

Mad that a 14 year old played in a back 3 with a 16 & 17 year old. Obviously very talented but I'd agree with, still a child.

Whether a 14 year old has left his childhood behind cant be decided on in every case just using his age .Look at gymnasts at that age competing on a world stage needing to be super fit and mentally developed as well . My opinion with lads in football is if the balls have dropped the kids a man - ya cant get in the way of nature ya cant stop a young mans drive to succeed . Rovers will look after the player . I understand some peoples opposite opinion -Im just saying the broad brush strokes are not right all the time .

they’re too young .
Bohs got slaughtered for playing a lad v Chelsea and rightly so, this is no different and that’s twice now , first a 15 yo and now 14? They’re kids it’s wrong.

Every club has a child welfare officer, even normal schoolboy clubs. It's great to see someone so young be able to play at that level, but it's not ethical, whether it's Bohs, Rovers, or any other team.

Gymnasts have to be 16 years old to enter the Olympics, they're also not being hit and tackled by grown men, they're also not sharing dressing rooms with grown men

Do you propose the club doctor check if their balls have dropped?

OK,, the balls bit a bit cheeky . Im just saying ya cant judge the entire population of 14 going on 15 year old lads the same . I trust Rovers to do the necessary checks etc to make sure the lad is strong enough physicall and mentally . FFS Billy ,,,,will ya get a grip. He will be with the most trusted people he will ever encounter in his life , his team mates who will bleed buckets for him .

and Irish sports coaches across all sports are never paedophiles.right.and it’s ok to put a child in a men’s dressing room, ok.if it wasn’t your team you would not be taking this line, and the queue of concerned rovers fans who lambasted bohs on social media for doing it(rightly imo)are strangely silent. Except Gary who has experience coaching kids and has made a good call.

Curtis and Zeffi were part of a 3 in a row all Ireland winning St Kevin’s team at my lads age group. Both then jumped ship to Rovers along with Curtis 2 other brothers. Ben,a year older, has a few under age caps. More a holding midfielder. Sam is attracting a lot of cross channel attention,so maybe by giving him a senior appearance it will add a few quid to his worth. I’m sure Kevin’s will be entitled to a few quid anyway.
