It actually would.

And because it's not going to happen unless an injury crisis strikes down Walters, Murphy, Long, McGoldrick and possibly even Doyle & Adam Rooney as well, YBIG will have to wait in further anticipation for the first time you are going to be right about a call about the Irish NT. I hope yer planning a big celebration for it.

Actually I've lost count of the number of times I've been right, just people on hate when it happens so it's just shoved under the rug, probably the same thing will happen after Tblisi.

Are you Donald Trump?

Will we have Maguire for the Larnaca matches? I'd fancy us to to win (would say comfortably but wouldn't be getting ahead of myself as Cyprus sides can be quite awkward) without Maguire we might struggle a bit.

We will. Himself and O'Connor are leaving on the 24th.

Also I wouldn't say we'd win comfortably; Larnaca reached the play off round for the Europa League last season (beating Spartak Moscow in the process) and were in the group stages in the 11/12 season. They've also finished second in the Cypriot league for the last 3 seasons, and have quite a few international players in their squad. I don't think we should underestimate this side, for sure it won't be easy, but given the form City and Maguire are in, I definitely think we have a chance of getting through

The drew with a team from Gibraltar... that says it all. They seem to be a side living on past glories. We have a good chance I'd make us slight favourites but only slight.

Love Cork but pretty sure they aint Ireland....right again.

It's actually ridiculous how he hadn't a hope playing in Ireland and after two games in England gets called up.

I'd say he was called up because of his form for Cork and not Preston.

That's a nice 'out' for O'Neill. He's well worth the call up. But he was worth it 2/3 months ago too.

Lets be honest here O'Neill was never going to call up a LOI striker for a crucial WCQ against Austria.

Also he didn't call up Maguire for the friendlies because of Cork's league run out of respect to the club.

He is only in the Prov squad anyway and very may well be cut......

I think the hat trick in Europe had a lot to do with him being called up. He would still be in the squad if he was with Cork.

So he's now worth a call up for a crucial WCQ now as he's played 2 hours of football in England?

Don't get me wrong btw, the guy is quality and well worth it. It's just another kick in the balls to the LOI by the FAI. And I don't think he'll be cut from the squad either. This guy is a star.

Well, Maguire has pushed on again in the last 2/3 months by scoring in Europe and a hat full more goals at home for Cork.

Note: he has only been included in the provisional squad and not the travelling squad to Georgia.
