Even with all the medical expertise in the world, there really is no guarantee of a player coming back the same from an injury like this, obviously we hope he does.

It is costing Everton 26 million (I feel nauseous just writing that!) on the basis you think it is good PR or it may sway someone else to sign for them, in the hope they get an insurance pay out?

It is incredibly decent of them, but it makes no business sense.

Well, if it was the contract that was on the table before the injury, which is what Coleman himself suggests in the quotes I read on the journal (not arsed looking again for the link, but check journal.ie for the article) then I imagine he's on a good whack now. If it's 100k a week or more, which it should be, then fair play to Everton for sticking by the earlier offer and not withdrawing it once he got injured.
You would have to say, if that is the case, that Everton aren't being very well run!

Not really. Its really good PR and will make the club more attractive for potential signings. Worth the gamble. Coleman will never look to leave.

Could get plenty of good PR and have a lot of change left out of 26 million.

He needs a new agent.

Coleman arguably one of the top 3 full backs in the UK is being paid less than Micah Richards whose a reserve team player at a low end Championship side.

There is various reports saying he is on between £38k to £60k a week.
That seems about right for Everton.

If he wants the big bucks he needs to move to one of the top 6 - simple as.
Man U and Man City are crying out for a right back.

Great to see but they're quite a fickle bunch, have you ever seen their forums when they're in a bad run of form? LOL
