Another one of his finest moments was absolutely destroying Venables chances of the Ireland job when it became obvious that JD along with 2 certain journalists (Paul Hyland and Roy Curtis) were trying to set it up for El Tel with articles by said journos lauding him

Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

On a Garth Crooks World Cup post-match interview with Sven Goran Eriksson: “That’s the first time I’ve seen sex between two men on the BBC.”

On John Hartson, while analysing a clip of him in action: “That is NOT the arse of a £7million player!”

LOL

couple of mis-spoken moments. Poland got called Portugal in POL v SEN and just before kick-off of RUS v ARE Ger Canning said 1986 was the last time Egypt qualified for WC "...1986 a long time ago". I felt he knew he was saying something inaccurate as he was saying it.

(I watch some World Cup matches on RTÉ because of the feeling of Community connection).
