Rovers absolutely terrible in the 1st half - couldnt srting a pass together and went 1 down to a well worked Pats move. Barry Ferguson had a howler and was taken off with 5mins before the break and replaced by Purcell who moved to the right, Maguire going centre-half. I'd say Scully had a right go at them in the dressing room at half time and it certainly made a difference!

Rovers upped the anti in the 2nd half and enjoyed the majority of possesion and chances barring a few counter attacks from Pats. Rovers equalised with a bit of a goalmouth scramble and bad goalkeeping from Ryan but a well deserved equaliser. Rovers overall should have won it but weren't too dissappointed with a point and a fantastic second hald performance.

Murphy - Solid as usual. No fault for goal and fantastic save towards the end to deny Pats a winner. 7
O'Brien - Got stuck in and got forward quite a bit. 7
Flynn - Bit shakey in 1st half but solid scond half. 7
Price - Again, shakey 1st half but did better in 2nd. Bit of a blooper 2nd half but got away with it. 6
Ferguson - Taken off before half time after a stinker. 4
(Purcell 38) - Made a difference and worked hard up front and moved to right. 7
O'Connor. Couldn't pass the ball all night but worked hard in 2nd half. 6
Madden - Looked to be off the pace and not much impact. 5
(Doyle 59) - Looked very lively especially on right side and caused Pats problems. 7
Maguire - Solid at centre half. 7
Amond - Scorer and unlucky not to score 2nd. Worked hard. 8
Rice - Outstanding on the ball an snuffed Fahy out all game. 9
Stapleton - Quiet enough really. 6
(Leech 63) - Looked lively and nice through pass for Almond chance late on. 6

Ye good point away to pats alright, could have won it in the end really. Must have been some half time talk from scully, they were excellent in second half after shocking first half

Great advertisement for the League in front of a decent crowd.
Soccerc might have the attendance?

Don;t have it yet but a pure guestimate would have it as close to 3500.

As for the reports, some people need to take off the green tinted glasses.

It was a cracking game, full of football from one side, pulling, dragging, hoofing from another but end to end stuff.

Ah now, even Pat's supporters admit Rovers were the far better team after the break and played some decent ball
pat's were far better in the first half

Rovers were marginally better in the second period but to say they played decent ball is a gross overstatement.

Everything was hoofed from defence to the wings, nothing thru the middle but it was effective.

Still, it was a great game as I thougt before kick off it would be a game of attrition
.
Actually started that way with the homeless using every tactic in the book to pull, drag, trip, block every and any Pat's player. Worst offenders were O'Connor, Price and Ferguson at the back and former saint Maguire in the middle.

Here's an example

Ferguson was appalling and when he was taken off it made a big difference

Tinted glasses??
Marginally better?????? A gross understatement! Have you any pictures of Purcell being dragged back in the box by that lanky CB that came on for Pressley?? Or maybe one of the 5 contreversial decisions that went against Rovers?? I'm guessing not!!
Rovers goal came through the middle, Almonds one on one(best chance of match) came through the middle, Purcell dragged a shot left from outside the box that came through the middle so to say nothing through the middle is a bit unfair??
If you have a player with Doyles pace, any manager worth their salt would instruct a long ball over the back four for him to run onto. Like you say effective.
I dont recall one yellow card for a DIRTY Rovers from a blatanly obvious one-sided referee so
Pats were hanging on for a point. Whatever it was - hangover from Europe or cockiness or both - Rovers were unlucky with just a point.
