Sorry if there's a thread on this already but Slatterys really annoyed me last night, price of pints have all gone way up  fair enough, a lot in Dublin have.

But then they were adding 20c to each contactless transaction under €20, I thought I'd misheard them the first time and the second I asked why 'because its under €20' was the reply.

Place was much emptier than usual, serves them right.

It was made illegal in the UK in January based on an EU directive, surely Ireland was obliged to do the same?

I'm not sure if it was all transactions or just contactless but sure everybody would use contactless at that price so makes little difference

Anything from 2.20 to 2.50.

Hotels can be dearer slightly about 2.80. Paid 5.05 for a red bull in a hotel recently.

4:70e for a stout in Beggars bush is unbelievable value.

No messing around at the bar either, at least 10 pints ready to be served at all times. Considering how packed it was yesterday, I waited less than 1 minute to get served each time.

I gave in €5.40 for my 1st pint to cover me. Couldn’t believe when I got back 70 cent back. Very very few city pubs under the €5 marker these days.

Slatterys is a kip of a place. It was good for atmosphere for a couple of games pre-match alright but that has tailed off.

Agreed, always great value and service in there, even on match days when you can barely move in the place.

The name of that pub used to put me off when I used to go to Dublin for matches, always assumed it would stink.

Have always been impressed with Beggars. As the lads said, no matter how busy the service is excellent.

Pints were 4.60 I thought for Guinness? Wasn't expecting Guinness to be served in a glass an hour before kick off.Thought it would be the plastic sh*te.

I never seen the appeal of Slatts or the previous sh*thole ybiggers seemed to love in scruffy murphys.****ish spots Dead
