The squad was getting stronger and stronger over the years and the setup and conditions were getting more professional. In addition more and more players were turning pro and playing abroad. This all leads to exposure to elite training etc. hence improvements in results.

Also, can we not pretend that this doesn't happen in the men's game? There has been numerous instances over the years a lot worse than this. People banging on about drama in the women's game when it wouldn't have a patch on the on drama that goes on the mens game.

So they were on their way to the World Cup with or without out Pauw but Pauw held them back in the World Cup?
Is that what Caldwell is saying???

There's a possibility that Caldwell will be making her final appearance(s) during this camp and that's why she was the one to come out and say what she said.
Regardless of what they thought, I think the squad should have kept quiet on the situation as they've created a situation where they absolutely have to qualify in the eyes of the general public and the media. Anything else will be solely their fault, whether they had justification to want Pauw gone or not.

She has 97 caps and has played since 2006. She is coming to
The end of her career and was used sparingly as a result at the World Cup. She was selected to be part of the leadership by Pauw. Does anyone think that what Caldwell has said is not pretty much what the rest of the squad have been thinking. Not one player has come out and said Pauw should have been kept on. In what world is Pauw right and everyone else wrong including previous employer. Basically the only argument people have in favour of Pauw is that we qualified for the World Cup. It’s like once you qualify you have freedom to manage in anyway you like.

If the Irish players think they would have qualified for the World Cup even without Pauw as manager, they are quite deluded. Do they think they are the Spain or England squad or something? Most small or medium ranked teams need the aid of a very good coach.
