There was a presser on this afternoon. David Kelly (of the Indo I think) was live tweeting
"Sometimes, sh*t happens, someone's gotta deal with it, and who ya gonna call?"

Jesus, talk about throwing her under the bus. Seems absolutely crazy considering what they achieved under Vera.

Katie: No player power involved
Diane:  Vera was a dinosaur.  We spoke to Ruud Doktor to try to get her ousted but they gave her a new contract.

Her statement shows what kind of a group of individuals they are.  A bunch of ........

Very unwise choice of words from Caldwell IMO. If results don't go well she'll be made to look very foolish

I bet you the lads wouldn't be getting the abuse if they were coming out with this.

At this point in time, are we not all members of the Kenny Out Brigade?

For me, that depends very much on the alternative being presented, my preference is for a change, but I'd prefer to stick rather than go for some of the names being bandied about e.g. Bruce, Allardyce, Hughton, Lennon, Roy or Robbie Keane.

Certainly not from my standpoint who thinks Kenny's time is up.

If any of the players came out after Kenny's reign has ended and started saying anything along the lines of what Caldwell said, I'd be disgusted no matter what I thought of the Irish manager.

The men's team have been nothing but a total credit to themselves for publicly backing a manager under pressure even if they might private doubts or reservations on Kenny.

The WNT are only making a rod for their own back by coming out with statements like this especially if results don't go well. It's a PR disaster and reflects very poorly on them as a group where the tail wags the dog.

Oh the standard response I suppose any criticism of them is sexism now is it??

As I have said it a number of times on here the ladies team could learn an awful lot from the men’s team in how to conduct themselves and how to stick by a manager/together as a group.

Caldwell will take the flack for this but no doubt she’s saying what a lot of the girls are genuinely delusional enough to believe.

Or maybe the men are sticking by Kenny because they like him and find him a good manager to work for and maybe the girls hated working for Vera and found her methods outdated and not professional

They are perfectly entitled to not like her. She comes across as a proper taskmaster and that will always rub people up the wrong way.

There is a line between that and coming out with what Caldwell came out with. Again easy to give her full flack for it but she’s no doubt saying what a number of them are thinking.

Yeah even if what you said is probably the truth you've just now painted a big bullseye on your back if results dip. Especially if it happens in this Nations League given the handy draw we got.

Now I'm partial to a player speaking their mind rather than playing politics with the safe boring answers but there's a time and place.

How the press officer with the WNT is still in a job is beyond me. Jesus Christ like. Camp after camp, one balls up after another.

Every player should have been briefed on the non controversial line to take in any press conference and then Caldwell does a hatchet job like that. Moronic and once again the wrong attention brought on the WNT.
