I actually don’t think the challenge was that bad. Keepers often come out at pace with their feet raised in that manner so that they can slide easier and attacking players usually just hurdle them.

In this instance he already had the ball, so he essentially just kicked him. It is possible for a keeper, if he is clever, to time it to take man and ball and look like he is protecting himself. This was just McGregor deciding to kick him.
