i think its a universal thing to say that officials are poor - but LOI refs are an absolute disgrace. they are unfit, unfamiliar with the rules and in many instances have affilliations to clubs. gerry perry was widely known to be a pats fan and every game he reffed us in, we were screwed over because he was trying to "compensate" the other team.

Lads, during the "Soccer Magazine" days of the 80s, I had a letter printed ranting about L of I refs.  Sadly nothing seems to have changed.  I am reluctant to say they're all rubbish and it is a bloody difficult job but the standard is not good enough imo.  A couple of LSL refs in my last couple of seasons reffing should be up there, but no sign of them yet.  It amuses me when the FAI moan that they're not picked for WC or Euros, but they have to be better for that to happen.  I often wonder what the referee inspectors are doing....

I wouldn't know Glen, but I can guess what rating they'd give........I wasn't impressed with Hancock on Saturday either, for either side...

Managers get fined for saying anything negative so I guess rating referees would not get off the ground alright.

I dont think a rating programe would help, a referee is allways 50% wrong..

The assesers do assesss and do pass on their points to the referees post match.
