Half-breed is a term, now considered derogatory, used to describe anyone who is of mixed race, though it usually refers to people that are half Native American and half European or white.[1] Half-breed is the English version of the French word "métis".

Vintage the e, prop comment.

If I called any someone of mixed race in England a 'half breed' they'd probably wonder a) why I was in the 1970s and b) punch myface in. IIt's clearly a racist term.

Too be honest not a surprise to see it on this forum...populated by oafs

One of the things I'm proud of being an Irish Supporter in travelling the world is being treated with respect and showing respect towards other nations.

To refer to the French as Frogs and Onion Breath (to quote only a few) is pure Racism!

If we were referred to with similar names, how many topics on this Forum would be raised?

sl*g off as many nations as you want, but don't go down the Racist Route, please!Angry

Wicklow runner confused between racism and stereotyping and general 'other country sl*gging'
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

i got in a scuffle once a fortnight for this when I first moved there. Being called a Paddy by some thick Cockney with Chelsea/wet spam / Millwall tattoos drove me nuts. I have to say when I mobed on to using vocabulary they struggled to understand was a far more satisfying experienc .

As for the term half breed, have generally only come across it regarding US politics or as an implication that someone in your family had been impregnated by an animal

Roy Race was a  top striker for Melchester Rovers.   He had some sayings that he used to funnily enough say.

Would they be known as Racisms?  OR Racist?

Anyone like them pink yokes? What are they called??? Oh yeah. Scampi. No wait. Eh.. prawn coctails.

Actually the other Roy didnt like prawns did he?
