Why does Tardelli confirm today that Ireland will play 433 ? Why are the media and fans allowed to see the team in training days before the game playing in a 433 formation?? Why does Trap name the team well ahead of the game?? Surely its better to keep your tactics and cards close to your chest instead of giving your hand away

Do you really think Germany are going to change their game plan no matter what team we put out?

Are you having a laugh?. It makes us totally predictable. It reassures the whole German manager and players exactly how we will line up and banishes all doubts from their head about what system we will play and thenplayers they will be facing. Only a crap manager would not study the oppositions strengths and weakness of the system and each individual player and instruct their players accordingly. |

Teams generally don't dramatically change in style and formation from match-to-match. All it takes is to watch a couple previous games and you usually a fair idea what you're up against. Just don't think hiding the formation 3 days out from the game would make much a difference, personally.

I just cant see how naming our team and laying our cards on the table can be of any benefit to us. Why not keep the Germans guessing. They probably thought we would play 442 but now they can prepare themselves to face a 433. So much for the element of surprise.

Irish set to man-mark Germany's Ozil in World Cup qualifierRepublic of Ireland assistant manager Marco Tardelli says they are likely to man-mark German playmaker Mesut Ozil in Friday's World Cup qualifier in Dublin. Giovanni Trapattoni is expected to play three central midfielders in an attempt to prevent the Irish being over-run. "We put three midfielders on the pitch and one midfielder is for Ozil," admitted Tardelli. Keith Andrews, available again after suspension, and James McCarthy may be joined in midfield by Keith Fahey. Andrews is certain to replace the injured Glenn Whelan. Like many of the Republic side, McCarthy struggled in last month's opening 2-1 win in Kazakhstan but should hold on to his starting role while Fahey and Sunderland's David Meyler appear to be battling for the other central midfield berth. Meyler only won his first cap in last month's win over Oman but is in contention to be pitched into Friday's big game. Remaining Republic of Ireland World Cup qualifiers
"We have two days to decide and during training, we will take the decision," said Tardelli on Tuesday. "Fahey has good experience and for Meyler, it is very early because it's a very tough match and we need experienced players." |

I don't agree it with myself. Obviously they will have done their homework on us. Now that we are changing things around because of injuries, surely it would be better to keep your cards close to your chest. Any information an opposition has on ya is surely beneficial to them
