So with match day coming soon lets see what you think .

To be honest can't see anything but a loss going for 0-3 with all the goals in the first half then the Dutch will stroll around in the 2nd half .

2-0 to the Dutch in a dominant performance. But we will still be close to them in passes completed, which SK will be over the moon with in his post match press conference

I'd say it'll be similar to the home match.  We'll come outa the blocks firing and may even get an early goal but ultimately we'll relinquish the initiative and they will pass through us and get the goals they need.
Moran will likely be a 2nd-half sub but won't see much of the ball as the Dutch will be comfortable by then.

2-0 or 3-0 to Holland.  I was expecting The EIRE to beat Greece but its clear now the air has gone from the balloon.

I expect a disjointed lifeless performance with a couple of surprises in the team selection.

A couple of cases of the cant-be-arseds there I'd say. Expect a few more over the course of the next week, there's a bad dose of it going around at the moment.

So why did both players travel to Dublin? I'm sure Smallbone's scan results came back showing more than can't be arsed.

Yeah that's total bollocks! Smallbone came into the camp with an injury and Festy was buzzing in his interview yesterday. Just one of those things

Smallbone never came over. Southampton basically ruled him out, he stayed there for treatment. He's got 2 injuries as well, never mind 1.

But yeah neither of these are I can't be arsed

Let me guess, it’s Kenny’s fault they can’t be arsed?

It's two nothing games at a very busy point of a long season. Clubs will be happy to find excuses to pull players out if they get half a chance. No consequences in terms of falling out with the manager if you don't show, as he won't be there next time around. Expect these lads to be back firing fit in time for their next club games. Just the way of it.

Haven't kept up to date with all the injury news etc but this is what id like to see if Moran is in the squad

                     Bazunu

Doherty   Collins    O'Shea    Scales

              Molumby Knight

Ogbene       Browne        Moran

                       Fergie

Give that a bash against the Dutch. I'd like to see this team myself.

I don't think it's a case of can't be arsed among any of the players but it certainly is Kenny's fault and the sooner that fookin jinx gets his marching orders the better.

The OTT childish reaction of fans is hilarious.  Murph is the same.  Sound like a bunch of 3 year olds and Kenny has stole your toys.  It’s football. Win some lose some.  He will move on.  He has done more good for Irish football than most. Was given the opportunity and it hasn’t worked out but it’s not a crime.  There is more hate on here for Kenny than there is for Delaney at times.

Talk of hate for SK is not widespread among his detractors, more huge frustration that we have gone backwards during his tenure which is exacerbated by having the opinion that he wasn't up to the job to start with and having to put up with the group think here who slavishly supported him.

Agree,  vociferously support the teams by all means during matches, but the manager shouldn't be above criticism if he is failing. Otherwise supporters are being totally servile. As regards the match tomorrow, the Dutch need to win to qualify, so expect a raucous atmosphere, and it's a dead rubber for us. I love nothing better than putting a stone in their clogs but doubt it. 3-0 win to the Netherlands.

I must have missed the meeting that decreed that supporters must support the manager? Particularly when the manager is damaging the team. Supporters of the team habitually call for players to be dropped, so why not drop the manager.

He's gone next week, it didn't work out. Get over it, he gave first caps to 24 players in his tenure, I'd bet that's un-matched in Europe throughout his time in charge. It wasn't all bad, the bad certainly outweighed the good but he tried to do something no other manager has and it was the breath of fresh air we all wanted. No other manager would have had success and that's not even up for debate, we're simply not good enough but hopefully these young lads can kick on now throughout the next few years.

Onto the topic at hand, I think 15/1 is crazy. If Ogbene and Ferguson are fit, we've nothing to lose and there's a bit of pressure on the Dutch. Think we will give it a go!

An you know what most of the people calling for players to be dropped and replaced with someone are clowns too.  It’s bloody obvious when a player should be picked like Ferguson was by Ke by Kenny.  Most of the other calls are marginal calls but the way people go on here absolute quality is left on the bench while rubbish is on the pitch.  The reality there is very little difference e between one championship player and another.

The Dutch are missing over half their team through injuries (and this is not a great Dutch team anyway) so the match should be close. A proper international manager would have had this Irish team playing for second place and still involved.

Surprisingly few goals in the squad. Nobody has reached double figures, Gakpo top scorer with eight, Van Dijk and Weghorst just behind with seven each

It will be interesting to see if the same posters are still saying that if we go for a Chris Hughton type manager next and he sticks 10 men behind the ball against every team that isn't Gibraltar.

If Hughton gets the job I will support him and would think he should get the nations league and World Cup qualifiers given his age and possibly the euros too.

I'll support him, but I wouldn't be optimistic about his tenure. Whoever gets the job should only be getting a contract up to the end of the WC campaign with an option to extend. While I think qualification for the WC will be difficult, the FAI have to give themselves the option of getting rid of any new manager without paying a fortune if things go badly tits up.

What is meant by "I'll support him"? If you genuinely think the incumbent is failing, and will continue to fail, he should have unwavering support? One nations league and one qualifying campaign to determine if its working, regardless of who the manager is, or what his football philosophy is.

This is going to be such a dull game. I hope Moran starts because of the players left he might be the only one that can create a chance for Evan.

Hope he is not sick. But RTE could really do with a proper football journalist, one who is not scared to ask pertinent questions, especially post-match.

Tony O Donoghue has asked the tough questions of Trap Mick and MON and Kenny.  Has often made him open to smart comments from the manager esp MON.

Has definitely pushed Kenny and more often than not leads to verbal diarrhoea from SK

We were missing a good few players due to Covid in that game.

Don't think we were. Possibly Idah and Connolly cause they sat in different seats on the plane.

Because it got nowhere, Kenny would just go off on a tangent struggling to answer the questions. With Mick and MON especially it wound them up and got TOD the soundbites he was after. Most of what Kenny would says gets cut to nothing because its just a ramble about nothing.

I hope Tony is ok.  I was very concerned watching him today.

Anyway yes he did treat Kenny with kid gloves and never asked him an antagonistic question he would have asked previous managers.

There's five CBs named in the 23 so some form of three at the back.

As strong a team as he could have picked really. Wonder if it'll be 352 or 343 with Knight + Robinson playing slightly wide of Ferguson

Surprised he's picked Robinson. Not sure he's the man to put in the shift needed as an extra midfielder when we don't have the ball (which will be most of the time) tonight. What does it matter at this stage I suppose, let him pick whoever he wants.

No idea how Callum Roninson is anywhere near starting. Idah for his pace and power alone would have made more sense

Idah. No way. At least Robinson will create and he can score. No problem with Robinson.

Didi saying the FAI should have stopped Kenny from taking Moran away from the U21s this window. Given and Sadler agreeing with him that Moran should have stayed with the U21s.

Cullen, Browne, Robinson, in there lies the problem. Extremely ordinary and we will never qualify for a major tournament with these type of players unfortunately.

Yeah, rubbish from Didi to suggest the decision be taken outa Kenny's hand re Moran.
I think Moran shoulda been left with the 21's but Kenny's decision has to be respected while he's the manager.

He’s right, though, that Kenny hadn’t much business taking Moran from the U-21s for a dead-rubber game tonight (in which Moran isn’t even starting). Ridiculous nonsense by Kenny, once again.

If Moran gets on for 30 seconds either tonight or Tuesday it’ll mean more to him than any number of U21 appearances

Yeah he would have been better served staying with the under 21's. It smacked to me of the only positive Kenny only ever reaches for- introducing so many players to the squad. Here's another one. All the said it is the managers decision so that's that really.

Ah bollox

The caps will come for Moran. Poor decision and a part of me thinks it may have something to do with SK wanting to have the fact he capped him on record.

Impossible to overstate the complete irrelevance of this game tonight from an irish perspective.
For Kenny most he can say from tonight is he gave moran his debut.

Never have I felt so low about a qualifier.

Is it even worth the agro with wife over knocking off strictly come dancing 15mins early?
