Me and a few of the lads are looking in to heading over to the UK for a lower league game once the LOI season ends for something different, and doing a night or 2 over there for it.

Any recommendations? Decent nightlife, no hassle getting tickets etc

Oh, and if there are any recommendations for any other countries just throw them in as well. We're basically looking for a p1ss up to get away from the wives and kids for a couple of days and to use the game as an excuse LOL

Funny that, because 3/4 hours before he dons his Burberry Hat and Stone Island jacket, he's sipping on Pimms, eating crab cakes watching Warwickshire v Somerset at the Lords.

Was bored other day so I was looking at UK cities for flights and match tickets for under €100. Return to flights to Bristol on Saturday morning and back Saturday night we’re €36. Match Tickets for Bristol City available for £27.

I’ve no idea what Bristol is like but it’s easy to get to and a decent standard of football.

I would recommend Peterborough. Cracking pubs outside of the main town area of which some are Irish owned. Train direct from Stansted airport

Imagine how his life would have turned out if he was successful with the Welsh girl he nearly hit it off with.  Faith eh.

I’ve a mate and this is basically his hobby. He’s into travelling to interesting and generally lower end matches abroad. Here’s his blog

Germany would be good for something like that I'd say. Flights from Dublin to somewhere like Cologne and plenty of teams of varying standards within easy reach from there. Or Krakow in Poland - Cracovia in the Polish top division and Wisla in the division below.

He could have been living with Vicky in Cardiff now watching Rugby instead Cricket, sipping brains instead of Pimms and munching on faggots instead of Caviar.

I'd be heading off to Budapest or Prague or many other more interesting cities. It's a far more random experience going to see Lech Boozbooney whom you've never heard of over say Colchester

Was there last month. Plenty of pubs alright but the price of everything was more than I expected. Now that was in the city centre.
