Depends on the Dutch game I think. If they lose, they’ll hammer us. If they win, they could be complacent. All things considered Ireland 1-2 France.

3-0 France

We will play well for the first 25 mins but France will overturn us for the rest of the game

It depends entirely on how SK sets the side up Evan Ferguson will provide us with a target man and a legitimate threat up top that we haven't had for many years. Nathan Collins has a big night ahead along with Cullen, I hope SK has a plan to attempt contain Mbappe.

I suspect he will have 3 5 2 and the rcb and the rwb will double mark him when he enters the space on the left hand side of the box

Would love a 1-1 draw but it’s extremely unlikely on paper. If I was a neutral I’d have a large bet on France -2 and a larger bet on them -1.

This France side probably should be back-to-back world cup champions, they have arguably the best player in the world and a number of other notable stars.

We could be in for a tough night, but we have been known to defend well and put in performances against much better opposition.

The being said, I think we will win 8-1.

I watched a lot of France at the WC. Even when they weren't at their best, they were excellent. England emptied the tank against them, and still lost. Argentina had the trophy sewn up, until France woke up (even pivoting with half time subs) Their squad looks very, very good.

Hate to have to say it, but our best approach, to begin with is set up not to lose the game. Suss out the first 20, and then see where we go from there.

Highly likely 1-3 to France. Hard to see how almost any team in Europe could live with this French team right now.
Absolute guarantee - about six or seven posters on here after the game demanding SK's execution, with a hardcore saying he should never have been given the job, with a couple mocking his speech patterns.
If we fight tooth and nail we could keep the score down. We showed some grit against Scotland, but it has not a feature of SK's reign. And I don't see it happening for this game.
If we can get through the first half 0-0 then our hope is that France will leave enough room for Obafemi and Ferguson to operate in. Maybe some early long balls, like Randolph to Shane Long vs Germany.

If we put in yet again another disappointingly embarrassing performance where does this leave Stephen Kenny.
At what stage is all confidence gone, and it’s time to see who fancies the job.

I don't think France tend to hammer sides that much away from home in qualifiers.

Probably 2-0 France with a spirited performance from Ireland.

Yeah, let's just hope and pray to keep the score down at home against a team that hasn't won an away qualifier by more than two goals against anyone other than complete minnows in over a decade. Ermm

List of teams France have beaten in away qualifiers by more than two goals in the last 15 years:

Andorra
Moldova

That's it.

So many stars in this French team. It will be very difficult to contain them.

When do we decide that the whole EIRE thing was never funny to begin with and we can just go back to calling the team Ireland?

2-0 France by the way but would be delighted to be wrong.

His name is Hendrick, not really that complicated, considering this has been pointed out about 100 times on this forum.

That's his 'stage name' that he uses to hide his distant relation to the famous American guitarist.
