Delighted to see this happening and hopefully they will have proper backing and don't fall away in a few years, it has happened too often sadly.

Another 4G pitch I see.  Dutch football has banned them and I feel we should have a timeline on when they go from the League too.

They will I'd say, there was something like 1000 turning up to the new basketball teams games and there was decent crowds for the U-17 games. Key to long term success is get the Killarney teams on board

Will they bring anything? I dont see it. Its the most GAA county of all counties. Will they have much support in Kerry...unlikely. will they bring much support anywhere? Almost certainly not. Dont see this one as much of an addition if im honest. Long trip for some aswell.

Would part of the bid being successful not have covered the Kingdoms potential support fan wise?

There will be plenty of support for it, there has never been more interest in it down here. The district league has gone from strength to strength since the aforementioned 5g pitches were put down. The U17s and U19s are both well supported by the public and clubs.

As for it being a long trip, it is called league of Ireland after all LOL

It says in this article that the Kerry manager should be announced in the next week or two any indication as to who that might be?

It is expected the manager of the new Kerry FC team will be announced in the next week or two, while player recruitment will be ramped up ahead of the start of the 2022/’23 season,...

Disgraceful pricing.

If 2 adults clubbed together for a family ticket they'd save €75 each

Makes you wonder what they’ll charge at the gate. Will it be €20? Surely not. €200 for a standing only season ticket as well.

Had a look at the pricing, they've the cheapest family ticket across both divisions (€400) so I'm guessing they're targeting that market, encouraging people to make it a family tradition.

Bray's Family one is €280 odd, if not less. Always wondered, could two friends not just buy one, without any kids?

5k for shorts. They are absolutely dreaming. They won't last too long unless they get a good slap of reality.

Rovers are propped up by a Billionare , Kerry are a new club trying to get their head above water.

I m sure the sentiment here is support the club and not chase value for money on the maiden voyage.

Exactly the Kingdom and Rovers are as different as night and day.

I've a feeling the Kerry board know what they are doing judging by today's sales.

TBF, the Croatian has been playing for Killarney Celtic, so the policy has been to sign players born in Kerry, or those registered with KDL clubs - last season, a Ukrainian refugee called Oleksandr Stefanyshen arrived in Tralee, local sports clubs immediately signed up himself and his compatriots, and he was involved with the U17 and U19 LoI squads last season.

Slow up to now, but gradually picking up since the New Year - between the stand, terrace and general matchday sales, average attendances of 500-600 are very much possible for the season.

Agree. There’s nothing that stands out about it at all. Basically a stock design from NB’s catalogue. Uniqueness of jerseys are a serious money spinner and I’d say they could have generated a decent amount if they had come out with a good jersey.

That's part of Kerry Airport's branding

Kinda mad that I left Tralee a few months before Kerry FC was announced, definitely would have got a season ticket. That being said, I don't see this lasting too long. People in Kerry just aren't arsed about local football. Hopefully I'm proven wrong though Smile

You have the league and Championship coming up now in GAA. Kerry FC will be an after thought id say.

They'll sell loads of them to tourists, having Ireland on it will only add to it. Cork City sold a load of overseas sales when it had UCC on the front.

The stand season ticket sales are looking more respectable now at least - I don't know what level of allocation Kerry Airport were guaranteed, but either way the finances would appear steadier than they were before the New Year:

No shortage of local businesses on board as sponsors at any rate, though presumably the ludicrous gear charges were quietly abandoned!

I got the home jersey for €75 with VAT and delivery included in that price. A bit pricey but sure it’ll be the first ever home jersey so hopefully iconic in a few years. Hopefully it comes a bit quicker than advertised on the website. 6th March is the estimate which is after the first few games.

What way is the crest on it? Some of the video released showed it sublimated into the material

They've made some odd signings. The lad Guthrie who signed as a keeper, I don't think was ever playing football. Straight from the GAA field.

Kalen Spillane signed yesterday and hasn't played to a decent level in quite some time. Likewise Sean Kennedy, I don't think he's kicked a ball in two years.

I heard one ex Ram is due to sign and he hasn't been registered with a team for a good 5-6 years i'd say LOL

TBF, Guthrie was one of the few players with Dynamos in the A Championship who's still young enough to play now. Kennedy just took one year out to go to college, but yeah, Spillane seems to have been signed solely because Billy played with him at Turners Cross.

Was he a keeper then too? He was plying midfield with Austin Stacks up to two years ago.

Yes, he was always a goalie when he played soccer, which made it natural for him to move back in Gaelic. Could yet see Shane Ryan switch codes when he hangs up the gloves, as he played Kennedy Cup in his time!

Surprising the match tickets for Cobh haven't gone on general sale yet, I'd have expected that a fortnight beforehand, particularly for a season opener?

The only ones I've heard of were behind closed doors games against Killarney Athletic (W 3-2) and Tralee Dynamos (W 4-0). Tonight's signing, Mark Carey, sounds more promising than either your rumoured Ram or Spillane, as he was a regular starter for Cork's U19s in the first half of last season, but presumably then got injured.

A good sign for the level of interest is the first batch of match day tickets put on general sale for the Cobh match selling out within 2 hours, hopefully it'll  be maintained if/when times get tougher in mid-summer!
