I still see Dutch Gold around. I’d say in 2 weeks time when minimum pricing comes in, it’ll be finished.

Me and my mates went through a phase of drinking it before we went out around 2008-2011 because it was so cheap around that time. At one stage, you could get 24 bottles for 15e.

In hindsight, it was a rotten beer.

I dont recall the draught? How any could drink a pint let alone pints of that stuff is beyond me.

I remember for a while about 25 years ago they had a pre mixed Moscow Mule in a copper coloured bottle. It was when also-pops were the rage and there was a big moral panic in the UK.

City centre pubs would be your best bet. But most pubs dont carry it. Even in the same market you have Hop House 13, and Rockshore.

Ritz perry was a very popular drink for the ladies when I started working in pubs c. 1999. But times were different then and some people not only drank, but paid for a pint of Budweiser. Don't know the last time I've seen or heard someone asking for a pint of Bud.

On tap think it’s as good a pint as coors or any of the others really.

Most generic lagers are much of a muchness. Bar Carlsburg. It's muck

Not a beer. But alcopops died a death. First time getting drunk was off Smirnoff ice. Could have been a sugar rush looking back.

Yeah when you travel around the local lager in 90% of countries tastes the exact same, just a different label

If you are buying Lager/Pilsner in shops offys etc be sure to check that it's brewed in its country of origin, makes all the difference. A lot of the big supermarkets sell beers brewed under licence in the UK and are very poor imitations. My preferred mainstream lagers are Budvar, Becks and Bitburger provided they are brewed in CZ and Germany. Occasionally can get my hands on Zlaty Bazant which is a decent Slovak beer, and sometimes the nonpasturised Kastellan which I acquired a test for at euro 2012 (sell it in supervalu, but it sells out quick).

Better alternatives in the commercial market. I think going for a big standard lager has its place. Like Budweiser or Heineken.

must pubs still have the taps. Don’t know anyone who drinks it. Miller was on tap in majority of pubs in the 90s. Don’t see it anywhere now

Draught was dropped late 00s, I remember working in a hotel at the time and nobody was touching the stuff.

Alcopops were big sellers in the 90s / 00s you rarely see anymore

Woodies, V.K, WKD, Bacardi Breezer, Smirnoff Ice, Fat Frogg.

Went out of fashion when niteclubs did.

Most young wans  seem to drink Rose, Prosecco, Gin instead these days.

Buckler was around in the 90s at a time when people would give you a quare look for drinking a non-alcoholic beer. Haven't seen it in 20 odd years.

I've a friend that drinks it, really odd. Everyone else in the group is Guinness or Heineken. Bud is the odd one out

It's gone all hipster now with the new glass. Appeared in a lot of fancy places in Dublin the Christmas before lockdown with a stupid glass and weird coloured taps
