Story,

I was at the last few matches with crowds, and I don’t mean to sound bad but the chants were very vanilla. I might be in my own little world, but I miss the Keano’s, the old Shane long’s on fire and Jackies army!

I’ll start the ball rolling this is Kenny Generation! (Look up Love generation for the tune!)

We like our players playing ball to feet

Early crosses and Amhran na bhfiann

goals to every ball that Duffy’s head meets

Don't you worry, it will be so sweet

Just look to Coleman, you will see

The ball will land to Connolly’s feet

I've got so much love for Parrott

When he turns, shoots and hits the net

Feel the Kenny generation

Yeah, yeah, yeah

Feel the Kenny generation

C'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon, yeah

At the same time though, it's depressing how that's a sign of the depths we've plumbed since the last time we played in Faro (v Gibraltar) 6 years ago when the chant was 'we're gonna top the group'. Cry

Hello there this is probably terrible but i was thinking
Every couple months we travel
To support the boys in green
Cascarino Jackie Charlton
Seamus Coleman Robbie Keane
Weve been to New York City
And weve been to Italy
Now weve got stephen kenny
And were going to Germany
Thanks, Lorcan

While Cascarino may scan well lyrically Smile I'd be loath to have his name included in any potential chant, particularly as his punditry is so goddamn awful! Needs work!

To the tune of ' Jammin' by Bob Marley

Ooh, yeah! All right!
Robbo
We're jabbin'
(See)
I wanna jab wid you
We're jabbin', jabbin',
And I hope you like jabbin', too
We're jabbin'
To think that jabbin' was a thing of the past
We're jabbin',
And I hope this jab is gonna last
We're jabbin'
Jabbin'
Jabbin'
Jabbn'
Jabbin'
Now we're jabbin' in the name of the Lord
We're jabbin',
Jabbin'
Jabbin'
Jammin'
Now we're jabbin' right straight from the sword
Ooh, yeah!
We're jabbin'
I wanna jab it wid you
We're jabbin', jabbin',
And I hope you like jabbin', too
Jabs in my side and truth I cannot hide
To keep you immunised
Love that now exist, covid I can't resist,
Jab in my side. Oh, yea-ea-yeah!
We're jabbin'
(See)
I wanna jab it wid you
We're jabbin', jabbin',
And I hope you like jabbin', too
We're jabbin'
To think that jabbin' was a thing of the past
We're jabbin',
And I hope this jam is gonna last
We're jabbin'
Jabbin'
Jabbin'
Jabbin'
Now we're jabbin' in the name of the Lord
We're jabbin',
Jabbin'
Jabbin'
Jabbin'
Now we're jabbin' right straight from yard
Ooh, yeah!
We're jabbin'
I wanna jab wid you
We're jabbin', jabbin',
And I hope you like jabbin', too
We're jabbin',
Jabbin'
Jabbin'
Jabbin'
I wanna jab it wid you
We're jabbin', jabbin',
And I hope you like jabbin', too
We're jabbin',
We're jabbin',
(See)
We're jabbin',
We're jabbin',
Oh yeah!

To the tune of Come Out you Black and Tans

Callum Robinson's Nan,
She comes from Monaghan,
and she is why he's scoring goals for I-re-land

He may not take the vax,
but he terrorises backs
and when he scores, we start up with this cho-o-rus

REPEAT

Have to say lads. Need to lose the drum during ybig. Especially when the drummer does the thing where he hits it three times really quickly. It puts everyone outside the singing section off and kills the chant stone dead every time.

Well, I'm runnin' down Lansdowne road tryna loosen my load
I've got Glenn Whelan on my mind
Caleb Folan wants to own me, Tyreik Wright wants to stone me
Odubeko says he's a friend of mine

Take it Ogbene
Take it Ogbene
Don't let the sound of Glenn Whelan drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place in front of the North Stand
And take it Ogbene

Has a thread like this ever ended in a song taken by the crowd?  No.
Likewise, the recent atmosphere discussions on Irish sports radio/podcasts showed a total lack of fan culture / game-going awareness.

If you think you've come up with something decent, go on an away game and sing it in the pubs/around ground/stands.
Failing that start it up at a home game, though it will prob mean a lot more long awkward singing alone.
They're the options.

Also we need to bin po xy Seven Nations Army after goals, same sh ite in every ground around Europe...embarrassing. Forced atmosphere never helps.
We should petition - something internet forums are more suited to.

Also we need to bin po xy Seven Nations Army after goals, same sh ite in every ground around Europe...embarrassing. Forced atmosphere never helps.
We should petition - something internet forums are more suited to.

We don’t really need ‘new’ tunes just sing the ‘Irish ones ‘ instead of the depeche mode sh*te and the sh*t James McLean one

How on the one road and god save Ireland isn’t more prevalent is beyond me - rant over

Don't understand the music after goals. It's absolutely sh*te. No music required whatsoever after a goal

What about Sweet Caroline
It's not even that tongue in cheek. Everyone knows it and gets the crowd going.

Edit: just read that N.ireland use it!

Just rewatched the most recent superbowl half time show there - i know we would never have anything on that scale to get the crowd going- But has there ever been any live music before matches (apart from the Garda Band) in the past?
Would it be feasible even ? Maybe could be an opportunity for up and coming bands and get fans in seats earlier, get the stadium rocking for when the team comes out.
