Just finished Woodward's autobiography. It was really sickening. I had a fair idea what it was going to be like but didn't think my level of anger and repulsion would be at the level it was. Absolutely horrific. You would hope the very worst things imaginable happen Bennell in prison

Interrogated extensively and exonerated.

How????he obviously knew what was going on and did nothing about it???as did others at the club...they all should of been strung up by the balls.

I agree.

4 of Bunnell’s ex players committed suicide including Gary Speed.

Very hard to read.

Obviously Roper is a monster but couldn't help but feel anger towards Stewart's parents too.

Different times and perspectives I suppose.

3-parter, the 2nd part is on tonight.

Very tough watch. Gradi may have been exonerated but he definitely enabled Bennell.

Yeah think it on at 11.15...crewe fc have a lot to answear for....seems everyone knew what he was up to but just let it slide.other teams would be sl*gging bennells teams because they knew what was happening so managers, parents etc would have known from opposition sides????

And then bennell marries Woodward’s sister....holy jasus.

Bob Higgins was almost like a cult leader. The Southampton lads were absolutely brainwashed by him.

Never caught last nights episode, but the first one was tough viewing. Them bastards knew they could make or break a kid's dream of becoming pro, thats why they felt untouchable.

Seen a case recently of a GAA official from Crossmaglen up for alleged abuse of 23 young males. It would be naïve to think this was an isolated incident with regards sport on these shores.

Horrific stuff.  Just caught some of last nights episode.  Very disturbing.  Heart goes out to those lads.

As Murph says shooting too good for the cnts

She must of heard things but chose not to believe them.

Woodward writing a letter to say bennell was a good person after he abused him when bennell was caught in Florida was unreal....the hold the abuser had on the victim’s is mind blowing.

How did bennell get back into the game when he was caught in Florida.....???

And how did Higgins not get convicted when it went to court the second time....what more evidence did the jury need???

Yeah there's examples in every sport...

Terenure in Rugby
George Gibney in Swimming
Penn State in American Football

All as you say, the same root cause

A very good documentary, I have episode 2 recorded. You can see the pain etched into Paul Stewart's face.
I remember as a kid that Crewe were always talked about as a model club for developing young players, and Dario Gradi's name was mentioned as if he was some kind of god.

The FA have suspended him from football indefinitely.

And the "Where's George Gibney" podcast which detailed the sick past of the Irish Olympic swimming coach

It seemed to be rife back then in many many walks of life
