I’d imagine Bowyer would be happy enough to throw a few digs back.

I'm convinced that the Frank Lampard project at Chelsea was actually about assembling as many punchable faces at one club as possible

Ben Chilwell was a marquee signing in this regard

If you got the most powerful computer in the world and used all the most up to date facial recognition technology and got it to come up with the most punchable face possible, Jesse Lingards would still beat it.

Came across as a horrible sneering wee c**t alright.

Apparently after a match a good few years ago , he walked past the mixed media zone in the stadium when one journalist told him that he and his colleagues had been waiting ages for him to give an interview. He replied 'I didn't ask you to wait' and walked on.

Man Utd tend to sign players who are either hideously ugly, not photogenic, or at best, incapable of smiling.

Think the 2008 side [Van Der Sar, Vidic, Tevez, Ferdinand, Brown, Carrick, Scholes, Rooney etc]. I mean Ronaldo, Evra, Valencia and Hargreaves are the best looking players there and the last three are completely miserable looking and Ronaldo is like a comic book villain or something. Then they outdo themselves by signing Gabriel Obertan.

Arsenal tend to sign better looking players, players who look like they're 12 years old and players who act effeminately and/or childishly.

Think Odegaard holding hands with Bellerin after his goal last week. And Pires holding hands with Henry after they scored in the Champions League against Celta Vigo. Think Emmanuel Eboue crying because the fans are booing him. Think Lucas Torreira crying because the fans are booing Xhaka. Think William Gallas throwing a strop like a 2 year old on the pitch that time against Birmingham. Think the trademark smiling and dancing team celebrations.

Back on topic, Timo Werner's face really irritates me.

I think this has descended into players you want to punch, rather than players with punchable faces. Like Jesse Lingard has an extremely punchable face, but I know absolutely nothing about him. He could be lively, but that face has him off to a bad start.

Delle Alli is in a similar mould, but he might be a bit of a prick. Maybe I just remember him diving a lot. So I am not sure if he is annoying or his face, but I will go with both.

I could never take to Van Persie because of his face and doubt I would have strong feelings about him otherwise. The Dutch have had a few in this mould down the years. They did give us Ruud Gullit though. The coolest and sexiest f**ker to play the game, so it evens out.

Dennis Wise had a face you wanted to punch long before you realised he had the personality to match.
David Seaman and Michael Owen the same.

I was an admirer of McGeady throughout his career and he comes across reasonably well when interviewed, but he has face that could incite unnecessary anger. I am sure it is partly responsible for fans not warming to him.

Roy O'Donovan at Cork City was similar. Lovely lad, very annoying face.

I'm not sure if it is quite a punchable face, but  Dinny Irwin has incredibly irritating lips. They always seemed to be far too wet. It might not be enough to want to punch him, but you would be fairly rough with a towel on his chops. He must be classed as a super-spreader on his own.

Toni Polster had a punchable haircut  yet Rudi Voller's, which was arguably worse, especially with the moustache added, gave him a certain pornstar chic. You just knew he wore a fake leather jacket and cheap sunglasses, despite his fame and popularity.
I think Polster had the sides neat, making him look like a poodle. The couple of goals won't have helped though.Angry

That's people who are punchable again though, rather than punchable faces. Haaland seems no different to your average young football,  apart from being much better than most, but that face angers unnecessarily. It isn't the hair or the attitude or anything else. It is just that puss.

Strongly disagree. Would love to see Italy beat them on Sunday but some of the England players are really worthy individuals doing great things for their communities, charity and important causes such as equality.

Horrible shower.

Kane, Walker, Philips as well. Arrogant bastards all of them. Years ago there were players that you didn’t actually kind in the England squad. Shearer, Sol Campbell, Lampard were all good players and look like sound lads. This current English team is just a collection of total cûnts.
Strongly disagree. Would love to see Italy beat them on Sunday but some of the England players are really worthy individuals doing great things for their communities, charity and important causes such as equality.
Would agree. They’re not their usual hateful bunch

I personally find them as annoying as previous English teams. They're all wannabe Instagram / Tik Tok 'Bantz' merchants.

The only reason anyone in England thinks the current team is likeable is because they are winning games. The same nonsense was being said during the last World cup. How many of the team broke Covid restrictions when everyone else was following the rules? Foden, Mount, Chilwell, Rice, Grealish all did. Walker was having parties with multiple prostitutes. Maguire was assaulting people on holiday last year. Southgate has a good public image but having played against his team as a teenager I don't even like him. Hodgson, Taylor and Robson were all really decent blokes who managed England but the press hammered them because their England teams won nothing

Do you like every other footballer you played against as a teenager? Strange comment

He played for a team called Selsdon that nobody liked in our league. They used to think they were all going to be stars as they had players on the books at Palace, Arsenal and Spurs. You can be a good player without being as arrogant as they were. Southgate was the only one who played at the highest level despite not being their best player as a kid.. People in Ireland who can't think for themselves are repeating the nonsense that they read in the English press. This team with the exception of some players like Rashford, Bellingham, Stones etc are no more likeable than any other England team. England have had nice blokes like Pearce, Ferdinand, Crouch (before his TV career) in their team before. They just never made it to a final

Also, the whole "the players are doing great things for their communities and equality" spew which RTE done before the match is the result of social media being so heavily evolved in this generation of players lives. I don't think any of them are more likeable than previous England teams. In fact, previous England players have came across much more humble and down to earth than this shower.

Ah yes. The racist Stuart Pearce and the man who cheated on his wife with 10 women, Rio Ferdinand. Lovely people.

Pickford - looks horrible and gurny a lot of the time, and injured Van Dijk with a bad challenge another reason he would be disliked

Walker - obviously i dont mind him as a City player, but can see how he wouldn't be liked, seems cocky
Stones - harmless enough, seems down to earth
Maguire - harmless enough, seems down to earth
Shaw - a punchable enough face i suppose
Tripper, James, Chilwell - no real opinions on
Mings - never liked him, a dirty bastard on the pitch
Ben White - had barely heard tell of him two months ago

Phillips - nothing hateful about him
Rice - horrible the way he sings the anthem among other things
Mount - no opinion on
Bellingham - seems alright
Foden - likeable for me, everyone else seemed to like him until he got that Gazza haircut so can see why he's becoming unlikeable
Grealish - obvious reasons

Kane - dives and sneaky with his elbows
Sterling - dives and left Liverpool, always liked him personally for obvious reasons
Saka - seems a likeable lad
Rashford - dives but is very likeable for his charity work
Sancho - seems cocky but no real opinion on otherwise

Southgate - seems a decent man

I should have made it clear I was talking about Les Ferdinand not Rio who I would never tire of punching in the face. Never heard anything about Pearce being a racist. I would probably be inclined to take more of a dislike to modern day footballers due to the lack of social media in the past. Rice, Grealish and Lingard are probably the 3 I dislike the most

Pearce got in trouble years ago for racist baiting of Paul Ince, calling him an " arrogant black c**t". His brother Dennis Pearce was a prominent member of the BNP and once stood for them in a parliamentary election.

Ah come on, he isn't that bad looking in fairness.

She is a generic footballer's gf/wife. Go into any nightclub in the UK and you'd see 40 or 50 exactly like her. Let's not act like pulling her is some great accomplishment or something.
