Scores in the League Cup for Portsmouth against QPR.

Has made an excellent start to his Portsmouth career.

Regularly name-checked by Mick and at this rate will be in our squad as and when the papers come through.

Only 23 with loads of Championship experiences to his name. Burton were dismayed to see him go.

Looks a skillful player from what I've seen, lots of pace too. Could well be a good option over the next few years.

Pompey need to get promoted this year

They have every chance.

Would be good for Irish football, with Harness and Curtis joined there by Sean Raggett on loan.

"Loads of Championship experience" as in all 10 games, 3 of them as subs which were 3 year ago LOL

He's a one to watch in the future however, now is too soon as he plays in a position which is heavily congested within the National side.

Yes, correction - most of his appearances for Burton were when they were in League 1, not the Championship.  No matter, at the rate he's going he'll be playing in the Championship soon enough.

What a hilarious mistake to make Coyne.  Side-splitting stuff.

I can safely say he will never play for Ireland; too much of a climb-down from his Championship days.

Greed has won, big finance has won. Whatever small role elite clubs still play in the local communities from which they grew is dwarfed now by their position as global brands.

27 goals in 108 games (several off the bench) for Portsmouth at L1 level over the last 3 seasons, 1 goal in 4 over a prolonged period is pretty impressive for a wide man. Still only 25, so cant be discounted as an option going forward.

Linked with a January move to Blackburn, that would definitely put him in the frame!

With the January transfer window now fast approaching, one player whose future looks set to be the subject of much speculation, is Portsmouth’s Marcus Harness.

The winger has been in impressive form for Pompey already this season, scoring eight goals in 18 appearances in all competitions, including three in his last three games.

However, that has perhaps not surprisingly, started to seemingly attract plenty of interest in the 25-year-old from elsewhere.

Recent reports from https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19731448.wingers-linked-blackburn-rovers-wait-ian-poveda-injury-news/" rel="nofollow -  The Lancashire Telegraph  have revealed that Blackburn Rovers are considering a move for Harness when the market reopens at the turn of the year.

All true but on the other hand, is 25 now and still playing 3rd-tier English football.  Will we still want Gav in goals at 25 is he's still in the 3rd tier?  No, and we're lucky that we have several irons in the fire there.

I am hoping we soon get to a point where we don't have to look down this far to fill out our squad and so players down there who want an International career with us need to strive higher.

Portsmouth on a push and I'd expect tem to make the play-offs.
If they did get promoted and this lad continued this form, then yes indeed, get him in.
In the meantime, he may be an option in March if we have no better options.

Ogbene is 24. Surely one year doesn’t make a difference? O Neill was referencing to “young” Doherty when Matt was 27.

Interesting to see a couple of our wide forwards linked with Blackburn. Scully was linked too.

With many sides at Championship level embracing 3-4-3, the wide forward that can score a goal is a valuable commodity.

That would be a fine stance to have if we didn't multiple League 1 players in our team for the last squad. We just called up Will Keane who's 29 next month and playing in League 1.

No shame in calling up players from that level because that is our current level.

I agree, but my point was I hope we can get to a situation where we don't need to call up teenagers (Parrott) and journeymen (Keane) from L1 to bolster our squad.
But yes indeed, where we find ourselves now is a bit aways from that.

Would seem to have more to offer than Ronan Curtis. Might be worth a look in March, but there's quite a few you could say that about and they can't all be called up.

Harness Curtis Scully Ogbene even Sykes and Oxford of course young Parrott we have 6 attackers now all very much at high end League 1 with the potential to push on further for a Championship move soon.

See Harness linked with Championship clubs recently. Hitting form now would be no harm for him.

Signs for Ipswich. Bit of a sideways move on the face of it, he'll be disappointed not to get a move to a Championship team but his form tailed off during the second half of last season which has probably cost him.

His first Championship start for Ipswich I'd imagine. He surely started League games for them last season?

Second league goal of the season for him today. Seems to have found himself a role as a useful impact sub in the Championship for Ipswich. Could find himself in the Premier League next season with Leicester and Ipswich running away from everyone else in the division at this point.

Ipswich are punching above their weight at the moment unlike Leicester who were expected to top the division. Harness and Jack Taylor are being used mainly from the bench but of the two I would rate Taylor as the more likely to cut it in the PL if Ipswich do go up.

Scores two off the bench to drag Ipswich back level from 2-0 down. First one was scrappy but the second was a very good finish. Really seems to have developed a role as a super-sub for Ipswich in the Championship this year.
