It wasn't just the missile, there was all sorts of other trouble too.

They should have been thrown out of the tournament, if only for the message it would send.

Meanwhile, were I a referee, I'd be fuming. I mean, what if Hunter had been seriously injured?

Linfield probably play APOEL Nicosia, if they get through.

However, this is not the key issue. The key issue is avoiding defeat at home next week; even though a 1-0 home defeat will see Linfield through, it will harm NI's UEFA coefficient. As it is, if Linfield get a draw, they are guaranteed to increase NI's UEFA coefficient so it receives a third Europa League spot for the 2021-22 season; as it is, if Linfield lose, it might cost NI it's third EL spot in that season.

Even if Linfield do lose next week and get knocked out, NI will still get that extra spot provided Nomme Kalju lose twice to Dudelange. I think that is unlikely though, so NI's best chance is Linfield not choking.

There's no Europa League spots for Irish teams that year or possibly the  year after.UEFA are bringing back the Intertoto cup and Irish teams will go into that. Only the league winners who get knocked out of the Champions League will be left into the Europa League.

Rangers have been ordered to close a section of Ibrox for their return clash with Legia Warsaw after UEFA ruled some of their fans were guilty of "racist behaviour" - a charge which incorporates sectarian singing.

At least 3,000 seats will lie empty for next Thursday's Europa League play-off second leg.

A club statement read: "UEFA has ruled that a group of Rangers supporters were guilty of racist behaviour - which includes sectarian singing - during the match against St Joseph's at Ibrox on 18 July.

The SFA should have done that years ago. Get any of them doing it, Celtic Hearts, Airdire etc.

Dundalk and other LOI teams can also pick these players? why wouldn't they. There is no restriction on EU players playing in the LOI.

Why should the FAI fund the LOI teams? each team needs to fund themselves.

I don't see the English FA funding City, Liverpool or Chelsea.

That was an unbelievable miss by Aubameyang. The one player you expect to score and he f**ked it up.

Incidentally, the effect of all of tonight's results is that Scotland are not yet *quite* guaranteed a second UCL spot from 2021-22 just yet. It's almost there, but not quite. They're 14th in the coefficient table but until such time as Olympiakos and FC Basel are knocked out, Scotland can still be overtaken by both. They need to be in the top 15 to get a second UCL place.

It's very unlikely, but still possible. Also, 14th (as opposed to 15th) also puts the Scottish champions into the third qualifying round, as opposed to the second qualifying round (the champions of the 15th and 16th ranked league go into the second qualifying round).

Scotland are sitting in 14th and should remain there barring some very good results for either Olympiakos or FC Basel but nothing is guaranteed yet.

AFTV will be legendary tonight. Absolute banter club. Manchester United have had their moments in the post Ferguson era but Jesus Arsenal are just another level altogether. Brilliant stuff altogether.

“Randolph sends it long…and Shane Long is in behind the German defence… Shane Long against Neuer…. 1-0!.. What a moment!”

I hope someone thinks to remind Arse Feck Tee Vee that Olympiakos are only in the Europa League because Spurs pushed them into 3rd place in their CL group earlier in the season. Wink

It’s all a bit of fun and jest. Every club gets the banter when these results occur. Spurs made olympiakos bang average and they probably are which makes the result hilarious.

"Bang average" is probably being kind to Olympiakos.

A poor Spurs team made hard enough work against them, but in the end, moving up a gear for a 30 minute spell in the 2nd half of the 2nd leg at WHL was enough to put them away. I didn't see tonight's game, but it's hard to know how any half decent PL team couldn't have done the same.

Meanwhile, I note that yet again, the Arse didn't have a single British or Irish, never mind English, player in their starting XI. There were two young English players on the bench, with just one of them playing the last 6 minutes of the 90 (plus ET, obviously).

Did Spurs not play them in the groups and drew away from home?

They've a cracking record against Arsenal, played them 10 times in Europe (all since 2009).
5 wins for Arsenal
5 wins for Olympiakos

Don’t worry, we have all been trying to figure that one out.

Why was the Salzburg game on tonight?

Edit: just saw it was postponed due to the weather there yesterday.
