Seriously ill in hospital after collapsing at the BT Studios.

BT have cancelled  their score show as a result. Must be really bad

How come England didn't start him against us into Stuttgart? Was he past his prime by then?

His daft beliefs aside, he always came across as a decent skin.

Hope he recovers

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Because Barnes and Waddle were on fire. Hard to pick that midfield in fairness.

Hope he recovers. Always liked him. Unbelievable player despite being long before my time but have seen enough to know how good he was.

The guvnor did it by forcing him to play a very arduous game of teqball.

Incorrect.
Neil Webb started instead of Hoddle.

Also Trevor Steven was better than Waddle at that time.

Ok fair enough but the point stands, Robson wasnt going to play Barnes, Hoddle, Waddle in a midfield with Robson box to box too.

Spurs legend. Some man for the 50 yard pass. Crooks scored many’ a goal at the end of a Hoddle pass. Scored for both sides in 81 cup final.

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

Tommy Hutchinson. Speaking of the 81 cup final, a little teaser - if Sunderland did it in 1979 and Villa did it in 1981, who did it in 1980. First correct answers wins a packet of cola spangles, a big time bar and a game of kiss chasing with Brother Ignatius behind the bike sheds....simpler times.

Brooking.

Greed has won, big finance has won. Whatever small role elite clubs still play in the local communities from which they grew is dwarfed now by their position as global brands.

Of course don’t know what I was thinking. Hoddle scored the only goal against QPR the following year. That’s a great question alright.

The question only works when it is written down. If you ask it aloud, you have to mispronounce Villa (double L being basically silent in Spanish and all).

Apparently the man himself is out of intensive care and is talking again, which is a great sign. He's very lucky if that's accurate and let's hope he gets well soon.

Former England manager Glenn Hoddle has revealed how he was "brought back to life" by the quick action of a special constable's first-aid training, after his heart stopped following a cardiac arrest.
