I don't want to drag the Abu Dhabi thread any further off topic so will start a new one.
Any decent ones out there these days? As BSM said, M&M sometimes have ones at a decent price, including Argentina away and River. Is there any decent shirts out there though? They are mostly awful.

I've bought the Parma away and Lazio home jerseys from this season. The Lazio one especially isn't for everyone, but I love it

The new away one is very similar to the one Crespo is wearing there, I believe it's a tribute of sorts

Once you get over the age of 16 you shouldn’t really be wearing football jerseys IMO, unless you’re playing for a team

Congratulations, you've proven to understand the aging process. Doesn't explain why you believe people shouldn't wear them after 16 though

I'd have a good few jerseys at home. Only really wear them playing Astro. My wife hates me wearing them so I sometimes wear one to piss her off when she drags me to IKEA or Dundrum when I have a steaming hangover. Usually this would be accompanied by a scaldy pair of tracksuit bottoms.

Have a look on classicfootballshirts. Picked some up over the years, especially their clearance you can get some great deals on all sorts of gear.

I meant new ones, DA. I have started collecting retro ones, mainly reproductions, decent leisure wear. My point was new ones are mainly tat.

Yeah I've kinda fallen out of buying jerseys, all the modern ones are just templates so nothing really stands out any more.

Don't really see many adults wearing current United/Liverpool/Chelsea shirts to astro.

Do many wear Irish shirts to games? Or just training/causal wear?

Even the retro ones that are class jerseys to look at (see Parma above), not sure when you're really gonna wear it

All rubbish though I suspect that Man Utd away one will become a cult classic in 20 years time.

"Third kits" and "fourth kits" are a bloody rip off.

Greenock Morton 1993-95 home and away jerseys are what every club should aim for Clap

It is indeed a great wee ground that still has a bit of the 70s/80s rustic harm to it. A Morton vs. St Mirren game (the Renfrewshire derby) is definitely one to take in.

My Dad went to a few Renfrewshire derbies (it was cheaper and quicker getting there than going to Ibrox) during the 70s, albeit at (old) Love Street. Glass bottles, lumps of concrete and the occasional razor blade flew everywhere. The police just stood back and watched yawning, until one of their own got hit ....

To be fair, most of the "iconic" shirts were ridiculed at the time too. Plus, they'd 2 years back then to get into our memories, most shirts are changed annually now. One thing in common with most of those top 25, is sponsors that have colours/fonts that suit the jersey

How many truly iconic football shirts, that were also beautifully designed, were ridiculed at the time?

Yeah GK shirts were awful in the 90's - the Schmeichel one with luminous green sleeves was horrendous. The United Grey one was one of the worst ever, now you see it on classic shirt sites as a work of art. Even that Holland one mentioned by drog isn't a million miles from the Arsenal shirt of today. Guess which one is held up as one of the nicest shirts of all times.

The Soviet Union version was cracking as well although I'm not sure if they wore it at the Euros

'90s goalkeeper shirts deserve ridicule and certainly weren't beautifully designed. Netherlands '88 is a fair shout. I would add England '82.

Liking it and wanted to collect it aren't the same. Many iconic shirts are iconic for being bad!

Holland's 1988 jersey is probably ranked as a classic mainly because they won the European Championship in it playing glorious football

If they'd stunk the joint out and finished bottom of their group I doubt there would be much love for that jersey

They only wore it at that European Championship

I do like the jersey but I'd say lot of that is because I have very good memories of it

The France 1984 and West Germany 1990 jerseys have similar associations for a lot of people

It's more interesting to pick out horrible jerseys that teams had success in or lovely jerseys that teams failed in

I didn't like England's 1990 jersey in which they had success, but I liked the Graham Taylor era jersey in which they failed

Brazil's 2002 winning kit was horrible

What about Germany's 2018 kit - that was a beauty but they stunk the place out in the World Cup

Denmark's 1992 kit is now considered a classic but had they gone out in the first round I highly doubt it would have been

In my view Liverpool 1995/96 is a classic but they didn't win anything in it

I hated the Liverpool 1993-95 kit

Yet I liked the red Bulgaria away kit as worn when they beat Germany in 1994

But they had essentially the exact same jersey

Perhaps I have expectations of what a Liverpool kit is supposed to look like and that 1993-95 kit did not meet those expectations

Whereas I had no similar expectations of what a Bulgaria away kit is supposed to look like

Bristol keepers kit is the spit of the Danish keepers shirt of 92. I do like a mental looking gk top, the designer has free reign unlike the outfield shirts.

Na, the home shirt. The one you mentioned was the away shirt. Production of it was stopped I think, it is valuable on the collectors circuit.

Barcelona Kappa jerseys from the mid 90’s are the best IMO. Turquoise jersey they wore away to United in 94 is probably my favourite. It was a 2-2 draw. They had some great jerseys back then.

I also had a Kappa Athletic Bilbao jersey that I bought in holidays in Spain in 1997. Another great jersey.
